I'm kinda wondering if Gunn is gonna go for an All-Star Superman inspired Lex Luthor; someone that's obsessed with their own physique as much as they're with their own intelligence.

If that's the case, I could see some of these actors as that type of Luthor:
Michael Fassbender, Bradley Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, Alexander Skarsgard, James Badge Dale, Edgar Ramirez, Richard Armitage, Mike Colter.

My personal picks would probably be Ramirez, Badge Dale, Armitage, Fassbender and maybe Gyllenhaal.

I feel like Cooper has played that type of character in both Burnt and Limitless, so I can definitely see him pulling that off well

I hope so, especially in this day and age.

I'd go with a Michael B Jordan / Jonathan Majors (circa a few weeks ago) type. Someone who just exudes that alpha quality, not only from their looks, but from their accomplishments in their work, especially relative to their age, earning everyone's respect (which is why I prefer a Lex closer in age to Clark, if not younger, just for maximum contrast between low-level reporter Clark and a Lex who's already a self-made billionaire, set to buy the Daily Planet or something).

I really dig the idea of Ben Sinclair, if you have had the chance to see him in anything you can see he has the ability to be scary and also very charming.

Honestly not a huge fan of his as an actor, but I think if we’ll-directed and reigned in a bit, Jon Bernthal could be well-suited for the alpha-Lex I’d prefer this time around.

Bradley Cooper
Tom Hardy
Jimmi Simpson
Michael C. Hall

Cooper sits at the top with the Gunn connection.

Bradley Cooper has thoroughly burrowed his way into my mental image of a new Lex.

If we’re going lesser known, I’m sticking with my earlier choice of Gustaf Skarsgard.

Bradley Cooper has been my favorite for Lex too after I saw this art from Lee Bermejo. It always reminds me of Cooper.

Wait Glenn Howerton as Lex is inspired
I like it but a big part of me worries lex will just be a joke again and not the scary powerful man that we have really yet to have. I want a lex that when he switches off his charm, he almost feels like Darth Vader is in the room.

I want a Lex that is so evil, so full of himself, that he would fire, or even have killed, employees that dare question his motives.
No quips, no jokes. A Straight up serious and down to business Lex.

Anger issues, yes. He would throw things when failures happen.

He needs to look and be in peak physical condition also, because that's how Lex would be.
AND Bald.

I just hope Gunn isn’t taking too many cues from All-Star, at least when it comes to Lex. If his Lex has some sort of plan to trick Superman into overloading his power and killing him, okay. But I want powerful business magnate Lex (only done right this time). I don’t want to see a Lex that everyone knows is a crook and who has to break out of prison again.

Imo Lex should be so rich ( one of the wealthiest if not THE wealthiest men on the planet ) and powerful that there is no way the legal system can touch him.

It's not the ideal starting point for Lex but I would love for him to get there. Powerful, business magnate Lex who built LexCorp from his skills as a scientist gradually eroding over time into crazed mad scientist Lex is my favourite. Take both versions and turn it into an arc.

Yeah, that I’m okay with, as long as it’s a multi-movie arc. I want Lex to mostly get away with whatever he’s up to for a movie or two.

Rosenbaum and Welling were so good together. Smallville is underrated as hell. Never appreciated it until fairly recently, but what a damn ride!
The show was pretty big when it came out? It was only towards the later seasons when it just kept going and refused to ever show Supes.
