The score is actually really cool within context.

I like what you did there but I still don't like it. I really hope I warm up to Zimmer's work for this movie.

The Zimmer theme does need a little getting used to. I really didn't like it at first, but it might just be starting to grow on me after listening to it maybe 10 times.

I like the music in the trailer and what little we heard on the website. The website music has this 80s sci-fi throwback vibe that I really dig. It fits the cyberpunk feel of the trailer. So I like it a lot.

I really dug Horners love theme for Pete & Gwen! Kinda hope Zimmer will make use of that again. I also love the opening music Horner did, where little Peter is running going around in the house. I thought it was very mystical and very fitting. Overall, I actually liked Horners music in the film (more so than Elfmans spidey music actually). But I really think Hans Zimmer is gonna kill it with this one! I think he's gonna make the best spidey music ever!

At first I really wasn't liking Zimmer's work in the trailer, and I am a pretty big fan of his scores and themes, but after hearing that theme above on youtube I really dig this. This just feels like Spider-man to me and it kind of sounds a little old school in the terms of heroic themes, I definitely like it.

It is, more or less.

Zimmer confirmed that he composed that, but it was still an early effort by him and his team.


In other words, its not done yet..... and expect something more polished come opening day.

Just my two cents on the score, my favorite theme in the entire movie was Oscorp Tower, thought it was great and would have loved for it to return as Spideys "action theme" especially the opening of it and the 1:17 mark on.

I loved Oscorp Tower. Honestly, I enjoyed the score outside of two things (the HIIII-YA in Ben's Death & pounding of Piano keys in Saving NY).

Still wishing Horner came back.

So guys, do you think the New Years evening footage contained some of Zimmer's music?
The dubstep part probably isn't from him (and hopefully), but the intro sounds like something Zimmer could have made with Johnny Marr on the guitar imo.

They used dub step for the TASM1 super trailer, but it never made it into the final cut. So I doubt this will be in it either.

We heard some of Zimmer's score for the cast introductions that we can also hear on the website.
