I love the piano part. and I really hope the final version of the first half will be a lot better, the horns sound way too sharp, and the "tyyyy, tyyyyy, tyyyyy, tyyyyyy, ty-ty-ty-ty-ty-ty-ty-ty- tytytyyyyyyy" was pretty cheap composing

Lol I love Zimmer but if you wanna call someone's composing cheap, look no further.

so, Zimmer did compose for Batman originally but they mixed up the movies with "Black Rain"?:o

I do like Hans Zimmer (his The Prince of Egypt score is still one of my favorites to this day), but I think its pretty ridiculous when a lot of his fans say he's one of the best and most progressive movie composers living today, when in fact he's actually "borrowed" from old musical pieces (like when he "borrowed" certain parts of Holst's Mars for the Gladiator Waltz), and even himself in some cases.

Not dumping on the man completely. I'm just saying that some fans take their praise of Zimmer just a bit too far a lot of the time.

I mean, TBF, alot of composers borrow from themselves. Williams does it alot too.

Yeah, but I think Zimmer is a little more, shall we say, obvious than other composers, and he does it a bit more frequently. Not to mention that his musical style is prevalent in nearly everything nowadays, even in stuff he doesn't even compose himself.

I will say, though, that his compositions for animated films, especially Megamind and Kung Fu Panda, are much more varied and interesting than his live action work. Though, that may be because he has another composer working with him.

I hope that he channels his composing style for those films into this film, considering how upbeat and action-y it's supposed to be.

Not for me. He's 'stealing' from himself in the Black Rain instance, it's still his music.

I still love his Batman theme & music, I play them constantly. It was just a revelation when I saw it, lol. It's like how his Sherlock Homes theme sounds like Jack Sparrow's theme, or even DVC having Lion King music in it, It's jarring, but it doesn't stop me from loving the scores. :cwink:

I'll agree with that first sentence, but I can't blame Zimmer for people emulating his sound. Directors want what they want, and composers must oblige or find music elsewhere.

the SITE score sounds different from what i´ve listened from Zimmer (im yet to be proven wrong), besides Pharrell Williams and the rest of the crew i hope they give us something different and fresh

do you think the superbowl spot will have something from the score?

Since it's sort of a worldwide showcase, I would imagine they put something commercial like dubstep, though.

The Amazing Zimmer-Man 2 is my most anticipated score, along with his Interstellar one.

The snippet is a very small portion of the whole thing, obviously. But the last half of it I like a lot. The first half very subtly evokes Horner's theme and I'm sure will work just fine.

The super bowl isn't that worldwide, 98% of the people that watch it are in north america. I didn't even know it was football until a few years ago, I thought it was baseball.

It kinda sounds like some opening theme for the TV news. Expected something more badass, but maybe we'll get it.
