I don't think Moody saying "it's magically binding" was anything he or Crouch Sr. made up. It being magically binding is precisely why Voldemort wanted Potter put in the tournament. He knew that once he was in the tournament there was very little chance that Dumbledore could get him out of it. This insured that at some point Potter could be kidnapped.

And I'm sure Dumbledore was more than a little familiar with the rules. He did after all work with Barty and Ludo to come up with the minimum age and he had to help set it up since it was taking place at his school. Dumbledore wouldn't ok the tournament if he didn't know it's rules.

Yep, maybe I'm looking ito it a bit too much. Crouch Sr was under the imperious curse I think.

17 Harry Potter Headcanons That Will Change How You Read The Books

I thought this would be so stupid until I got to the second one and now I'll never stop sobbing.

#3 Thermos :funny:

#14 Hmmm:hmm

#12 I don't know why I never considered that The Room of Requirement may have been created by one of the Founders. It definitely fits in with what little is said of Helga Hufflepuff. My headcanon for it was that it came into existence on its own, but I like the idea of one of the Founders making it. Salazar and his nasty wet sewer Chamber can suck it.

A short story (or a few short stories). I haven't read them, but I hear grown-up Harry has a new scar. A whole trilogy for WB, set in the past with new characters and in America. A stage play called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

I don't know. I feel like JK's just circling a new, full-fledged HP story. I think it will happen eventually.

She keeps adding snippets of new stories and new character details every once in awhile on her Pottermore website too.

Professor Snape was Harry Potter's biological father, and its pointless to keep it a secret any longer.

I wish the series explored more about Charlie Weasley, as the character is underrated.

Is it true Harry and Hermoine were meant to be together instead of Ron and Hermoine?

^ It's true that Rowling regrets pairing Hermoine with Ron instead of Harry, anyway. Not sure if she ever explained why it all ended up as it did?

I thought it was because she had a soft spot for Ron due to him being based on her friend she once had a crush on. Does that sound familiar to anyone else?

I'll admit I thought Harry and Hermione seemed like a better match, but it was obvious from GoF onward that Ron and Hermione were endgame so I got used to that idea quickly enough. Only problem was...I've never cared for Ron.

I would have liked to have seen the Golden Trio date people from different houses.

It would have been cool to see and show that preceptions are not always true

The new play has officially been announced as a sequel to the original series.

http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2015/10/harry-potter-sequel-cursed-child-play-eighth-story-albus

When Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows came out in 2007, author J.K. Rowling was pretty insistent that the seventh installment had closed the book on the adventures of the Boy Who Lived. Even as recently as April of this year, Rowling said, “I think Harry Potter 8, as in what happened next to Harry, Ron and Hermione—I don’t think that’s going to happen.” Sure, we’ve gotten little stories on her site, Pottermore, fleshing out the details of Harry’s world, and, yes, Rowling did write the script for the quasi-Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. But a sequel? Harry Potter 8? That was out. Until now. According to a newly launched Web site, the upcoming two-part Rowling play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, is officially a Harry Potter sequel. And according to the official art above, it’s “The Eight Story.”

This isn’t even kind of a sequel. The official synopsis makes it clear that Harry Potter features in more than just the play’s title:

"It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places."

The play, which is being performed in two parts at the Palace Theatre in London, could very well, if we’re lucky, pave the way to a whole new book series of magical adventures from Rowling, potentially starring Harry’s son Albus. And surely, if Warner Bros. has anything to say about it, The Cursed Child will eventually get a film treatment.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. What prompted Rowling to somewhat reverse her position on a Harry-centric sequel? “The story only exists because the right group of people came together with a brilliant idea about how to present Harry Potter on stage,” she said in a recent statement. “I’m confident that when audiences see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child they will understand why we chose to tell this story in this way.” The story for the play was conceived by Rowling, but, according to the show’s Web site, Jack Thorne has the actual playwright credit.

Casting hasn’t been announced yet for the play, so you can still, if you’d like, keep your fingers crossed that Daniel Radcliffe will miraculously decide to reprise his role as Harry on the stage. Previews begin in June 2016, and some tickets will be available for as little as £10. Once the show opens in late July, tickets will cost as little as £15, with 250 tickets available for every show priced at £20 or less. Priority ticket sales will open online at 11 A.M. G.M.T. Wednesday, October 28, on a first-come, first-served basis. If you’ve registered for priority booking, you’ll be first in line (along with everyone else who registered). New Harry Potter is coming. Now all you need to do is hop on the nearest broom, Thestral, or Hippogriff and get yourself to London.

Very interesting, indeed.

Yes, because Harry Potter being an overworked civil servant living a mundane middle aged suburban-esque life is everything we've ever wanted in a Harry Potter sequel :o

Well we knew he became an auror, and their jobs are intense, demanding, and exhausting. Piling three kids and a marriage on top of that and the baggage that comes with being Harry Potter...is this really surprising?

Good. Goooooooooooood.

Bah, I saw a flash of an news update at the gym this afternoon and thought Rowling had broken down and secretly written a full-fledged new book. Still, I'm happy with this news and will definitely pick it up day one.

It is half price if you pre-order it through Waterstones, if anyone fancies saving some pennies.
Is anyone going to see it when it hits the theatre?
