Infinity War The Heroes That Stand Before Thanos

Captain Marvel is a strong female and she does have "nigh invincibility." Well, at least to a certain degree. Heroes of her caliber are very hard wound or even kill for that matter.

Hm, thanks for clearing that up. I hope one of the heroes gives Thanos a good beating in a fair hand to hand fight.

One hero shouldn't be able to take Thanos with IG on one on one, without it I imagine Strange would give the best fight and that isn't hand to hand. Hulk Thor and CM should probably last about 30 seconds.

Anyway hoping all those rumors of the IW Part 1 team are untrue, sounds more like B-Avengers: Infinity War.

Who are the rumored IW 1 Avengers?

Well there's a mixture, but the latest one has [BLACKOUT]Iron Man leading a team, without Cap, Thor and Hulk, and from how I read it could be wrong, but no Captain Marvel, Dr Strange or Spider-man either. So Iron Man with presumably Widow, SW, War Machine, Vision[/BLACKOUT]

I think you got that a bit off. The rumor is [BLACKOUT] Cap leading a team without Iron Man, Hulk or or Thor that has Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Vision, and Falcon[/BLACKOUT].

And the people who keep talking about Captain Marvel and Hulk are missing the key thing. Thanos isn't gonna be the only opponent and it's unlikely a beat down will solve the situation.

Pretty much every single storyline of the heroes vs. Thanos has him holding his own against the big guns and only going down thanks to the intervention of someone else. He defeated the entire Avengers in his first major crossover and only lost because the half-dead Mar-Vell managed to destroy the Cosmic Cube while Thanos was distracted. His second major battle had him defeating and capturing the Avengers and even besting both the Thing and Thor, and only had him go down because Warlock turned him to stone after the rest of the heroes were beaten. Same thing in Infinity Gauntlet. He completely chumped the "big guns" like Hulk, Thor, Quasar, and Vision, and only lost because Nebula stole the Gauntlet while he was distracted. Then more recently in Infinity he was smacking around the likes of Captain Marvel, Thor, and Hulk, and was only defeated because Thane snuck up and trapped him in a state of living death.

There's a consistent thread in all of them: none of these fights are decided by "who can punch Thanos the hardest". He can withstand that. It's going to take more than that.

He has to have foes alongside him otherwise Infinity War is 4-5 hours of the Avengers trying to beat up the same guy, which is just boring.

And as I mentioned if that's the case there's only certain characters who can go hand to hand with Thanos anyway so unless you have someone else working with or under him then you have large swaths of characters who are essentially irrelevant to the plot while the 3 or 4 people who can actually take a punch from Thanos do everything.

Well I don't think it will be 4-5 hours of fighting, I imagine a lot of IW1 will be Thanos actually collecting the gems.

Then beyond that, he can use the gems in various ways, so it isn't just a fight.

True, but given that in the past we've already seen Thanos using proxies (Loki, Ronan, and the Chitauri) to collect the gems for him I can't imagine he'd suddenly decide to completely do it by himself. I absolutely think he will fight the Avengers and will appear but he will likely have someone working for him.

Whether it's more CGI mooks or just a team like the Black Order or Zodiac, I can't say.

I'm in the camp that Thanos has been using proxies to determine where exactly the gems are, or at least that's my hope, I kind of want IW1 Thanos just going around collecting the gems and leaving places like Xandar obliterated.

I think two things shouldn't happen in IW, heroes fighting each other, and faceless dispensable army.

I disagree. Thanos is a wonderful villain but JUST him would be stagnate. Either give him the Black Order or mooks. Give the Avengers as a whole something to do otherwise it's just the heavy hitters doing all the work.

Even with Ultron they realized the need to give him co-villains and an army.

Yeah ad a lot of people are claiming it's the same thing again with faceless drones.

Thanos can have help, but not an army there to be killed.

Last I checked people seemed hyped as hell over the trailer so I'm not sure who exactly is complaining but even if they are I doubt it's going to hurt the film.

You can be hyped for a film and still not think everything is perfect. I think some people including myself were hoping the drones would be more of a threat.

And no it won't hurt the film, but then again Transformers is continuous garbage and that doesn't hurt it either.

Gotta give the heroes something to hit otherwise like the proposed situation with Thanos, it's 2 hours of them beating up the same guy. It's a trope that exists for a reason.

But even then you don't need to just have disposable mooks when Thanos already has fairly competent teams of villains that have worked under him in the past.

The key is you want the fights to be big.

Well in AoU you have the Twins and Vision for them to fight as well as Hydra at the start.

As far as Thanos using an army, I like the idea of him using the gauntlet to bring back all the villains previously killed off, or creates evil versions of the Avengers. Before h gets the gauntlet, I'd like to see him use the Kree as his army in IW1. This could lead up to a Captain Marvel and Inhumans movie.

Hopefully Mephisto shows up soon. I liked their interaction in the Infinity Gauntlet story.

Longtime lurker lol. I doubt this will be a 6 hour film of 50 heroes fighting Thanos. This will probably be a combination of Lord of The Rings/Mass Effect meets Superheros. At-least I hope! Heck at this point a-lot of IW1 is going to be making Thanos a credible villain given dude has had no development for the casual; He's just some random purple dude to most people.

I don't think they are going to throw in characters to fight Thanos that haven't already been introduced. I just can't see them just throwing in characters that nobody knows who they are or haven't seen in the Marvel movies, least far as casual fans.

If the character has been featured in the MCU(Movies & Shows) they will probably have a chance of being one of the heroes that stand before Thanos in the final battle.

If they decide to assemble all heroes since the beginning, all avengers, guardians, inhumans, heroes from series and solo movies ... Look like Vs Sentai crossover lol.

Take a massive grain of salt (as the writer often pulls stuff out of his ass), but Bleedingcool claims we WILL see the Netflix heroes joining the fight in Part 2.

YEAH, Daredevil is in an Avengers film then.
Will they recast or go with Charlie Cox?
