Anyone else think Iggy gets too much hate? It's not like she put out zero effort. I think Black Widow is sort of catchy.
You guys hear about Lil Wayne saying Cash Money and Birdman holding the Carter V hostage?

I think she's garbage musically. Kreyashawn, Soulja Boy level...but at least I like Turn My Swag on by Soulja

http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/hopsin-...g-rap-and-moving-to-australia-news.13281.htmlWe've seen Hopsin go on twitter rants concerning the music industry/rap game in the past, however he usually calms down and it's back to business as usual. His latest message to the fans isn't in rant-form and it sounds like he's for real.
The Funk Volume rapper has had his fair share of ups and downs, and announced via Facebook today that he's quitting the rap game in order to move to his Australia (presumably to live/be with his Australian girlfriend) and move on to different things. He reveals he's already signed over his portion of the Funk Volume business to his partner, and wished the best of luck to former labelmates Dizzy Wright, SwiZzZ and Jarren Benton.
He says: "Over the past couple years I have come to conclusion that this profession just isn't for me, so im going to venture out into new areas of life. I will always be an MC at heart, but this rap stuff just isn't for me." Read his full messages below.
I just wanted to take time out to say I appreciate all of u who have supported my music over these past few years. A Lot of u have told me stories about how I have changed your life. You too have changed mine in ways that u can never imagine. Unfortunately, tonight is the night that I am actually moving away to Australia. Over the past couple years I have come to conclusion that this profession just isn't for me, so im going to venture out into new areas of life. I will always be an MC at heart, but this rap stuff just isn't for me. I hope Youguys can respect it. I've signed over my half of the funk volume label to my business partner Dame. I also wished Swizzz, Dizzy Wright and Jarren Benton good luck in their careers. Thank u all! I'm out.
Sincerely,
Marcus Jamal Hopson aka "Hopsin"
http://www.complex.com/music/2014/12/anonymous-threatens-iggy-azalear-on-twitterAnonymous Threatens Iggy Azalea on Twitter: "You Have 48 Hours"
The beef between Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks just got taken to the next level. After Iggy's foolish series of tweets today in response to Banks' Hot 97 interview on cultural appropriation in hip-hop, hacker group Anonymous has rode in on a white horse to seriously escalate matters.
Anonymous, never a group to quietly go about their business, tweeted a series of messages at Iggy. They deemed her "guilty of misappropriating black culture, insulting peaceful protesters, and making light of Eric Garner's death" and threatened to leak screenshots from her rumored sex tape, among other things, to wreck Iggy's public image. Anonymous is demanding an apology, or else.
I find it all reeks of tribalism and entitlement. Why not take away Jimmy Hendrix guitar or boot the jackson family out of the genre they were/are playing in. No black country singers and no white rappers(starting with Shady). Take this mind set to it's conclusion, draw out some lines and stick to them, see where that would leave us. It's all so fickle and wrecks of insecurity and contempt.
I do think Kendrick's album was a once in a life time thing but I grew tired of how people belittle all that Macklemore did and spoke to(and independent of a label too). It's hardly Vanilla Ice.
Then you have all this talk of conscious rap and the 70's movement, as if modern hip hop with the videos and consumption and what not has anything to do with that.
The irony I personally find being that Banks wasn't the skin colour she is, I'd find her output 'whiter' than Iggy's.
What a shame.
I find myself imagining for 2 seconds if the roles were reversed and it was a 'white' 'band' speaking out against blacks making or being celebrated in 'white' music. It would no doubt be called out for what it is.
