Thanks... I'm not a blu ray snob either. I just love the bonus footage. That's why I love all the Hammer releases coming out lately. They're loaded with them.I have a number of Blu-rays from Scream Factory. I think the majority of the transfers are pretty good, but then again, I'm not a Blu-ray snob. They Live does have some noticeable DNR, but I don't think it looks like ****.
I don't think all the raving from fans is truly justified since the transfers, while good, could be better. Personally, Synapse films is a lot better. I bought both the limited edition steelbook blu-rays for Demons 1 & 2 and they look fantastic. Synapse did push back the release date once or twice, but it was worth it.
The main problem with SF is that they're so busy trying to release numerous films that it doesn't give them as much time or money to try to give those films the best possible transfer.
I got Phantasm 2 and it was great. Tons of extra's and that movie looks great in HD.
