Did anyone see the Pyramid? I thought it had promise but the cgi and overall plot was terrible... I gave it the benefit of the doubt initially because I love Egyptian related things.

Yeah, The Pyramid was pretty terrible. I LOL'd at how bad the CGI was.

I've been looking forward to "It Follows" for a long time, huge bummer that there's still no word of it playing soon anywhere near me.

I've heard that It Follows is supposed to be REALLY good.

I came in here just for this movie. I guess it's playing near me since I keep seeing the commercials. It looks really awesome and I'm not a horror guy at all. Those movies just usually don't do anything for me, but this one has me intrigued.

Just saw It Follows. Real solid flick. Def some great old school creepy **** goen on. Overall probably not as good as I've heard from others, but it was awesome to see a flick more in the vein of old school horror. The set up is great. Plays the coming of age/ loss of innocence theme well too.

What I was most impressed with was the atmosphere and soundtrack by Disastearpeace. Both were ****ing awesome  Without setting the mood and tone as well as it did this flick would not have been receiving half as much good wom imo.

Loved the actress as well, her character and performance reminded me a bit of a more subtle version of Monica Keena in FVJ.

8.5/10 definitely recommended

Has anyone seen Adam Green's 'Scary Sleepover' series? The first episode was with Kane Hodder. It was pretty good and seems like quite a cool idea overall. New episodes are posted every Friday apparently. I can't post a link because of swearing but you can find it on most horror websites.

So I take it I'm the only person watching this then? :csad:

Anyway, Friday's guest was Derek Mears and it was really good. He seems like such a cool guy.

Next week's guest is Danielle Harris.

It Follows is definitely recommended. It is very old school, which is how horror should be done. The first half of the movie was perfect. The second half was a little more flawed and less clever, but still solid. Overall, it was definitely enjoyable and one of the more respectable horror movies of modern times.

it was also amusing for me to see a horror film made in the metro detroit area. I knew almost every location, ha. The ice cream shop is right across the street from a great comic book store.

The hype around It Follows is quite bizarre. It is a very okay movie. Above average simply due to craftsmanship and given how crappy the "average" horror film typically is. The first 30 minutes are pretty good but then the film becomes very repetitive. The film fails to either really develop its characters and their relationships or deliver the scares or atmosphere. 6/10.

Let Us Prey was pretty good. The film reminded me of Assault On Precinct 13 a little bit.

I really liked
Liam Cunningham's devil character. I could picture a whole tv series about the devil turning up in different places to take the souls of sinners.

I am impatiently awaiting news on the Trick or Treat comic.

I am watching 4 Hammer Dracula films, after reading the BFI's Top Christopher Lee films list.

The bummer about It Follows was it was supposed to hit VOD on my birthday. So my buddy and I had planned on watching it then. But then it did so well they bumped the VOD date back and expanded it to a ton of other theaters nowhere remotely near me. So... Eventually.

There is one nearby that's playing it... I might check it out after work.

I am really excited that Fiona Staples is involved. Her work on Saga is fantastic.

I actually have a trade paperback of the comic adaptation of the first film.

Also in related news, Michael Dougherty's "Krampus" started production this week.

Thanks---this made my day! :yay:

That teaser was only 17 seconds but that line is damn great. Though I wasn't much for the ending I really enjoyed Sinister. It was a really uncomfortable theater experience, very tense.

:wow::wow::wow:

Watched The Babadook. Pretty impressive slow burn film. Didn't find it scary but it was pretty good. I'd love to have the book from the movie.

Why haven't we heard anything about Trick R' Treat 2?

Has anyone seen the Lizzie Borden film from last year... and the episode last night, with Ricci? All I've seen is the movie, was alright. Ricci stole the show, and the musical aspects worked for me. I think it was nice being slightly weird, instead of strictly period.

Because Dougherty and Legendary are currently making a Krampus film with Trick R Treat sequel slated after that. The Krampus movie started production a week or two ago.

Also, as for the book from the Babadook, they actually did sell the book in a one time sale. They ship some time in June. I can't wait for it to arrive. They are currently making more pages and remixing others to combine the two versions of the book into one big story.

The Babadook actually won multiple awards at the Australian Academy awards including Best Picture and Best actress.
