Trailer for Austrian horror/thriller GOODNIGHT MOMMY.

Looks promising. I hope it delivers.

Anyone ever notice how much the opening theme music for the original Friday The 13th (1980) sounds almost identical to the main theme from Jaws (1975)?

Or for that matter, how much John Carpenter's theme music for Halloween (1978) sounds like Tubular Bells, the theme music from The Exorcist (1974)?

So I just watched Sinister. Starts well, then nothing happens and then it ends.

Anyone seen The Loved Ones? I think it's on Netflix I might check it out.

Yeah, it's an Aussie horror flick. There's some gore in there but I seem to remember enjoying it.

I enjoyed the first Sinister, could have done without the supernatural ********. The sequel looks to have missed the mark on what made the first film decent to begin with.

Like others I watched The Guest the other night and thought it was really good. I'm still confused about something
Why did David choose the Peterson family? Was it just random?

With no supernatural, there's no plot....

yes there is, there is string of unsolved murders that were filmed, the film didn't have to go the supernatural route, Mr Boogie could have just been a ritualistic serial killer which I would have found more entertaining personally.

That's interesting to know that you thought it was really good. The TV spots I've seen have done the film no favours.

It's currently on Netflix. Give it a chance.

Hey!:cmad:

I liked the beginning because it was ambiguous whether the menace was human or supernatural. And the scares where subtle and the visuals very creepy. Then it looses traction.

Wasn't ambiguous at all. Or I guess you're ignoring the daughter's drawings, how none of the kids in the tapes knew each other, or how the Sinister guy was in every video.........

It was pretty damn clear that the menace was not human.

Sinister wasn't amazing but I still liked it quite a bit. Derrickson is a master at atmosphere

I liked Sinister too. The sequel looks like garbage though.

What was the last film that really frighten or made ya'll feel uneasy? I'm just tired of gross slasher films and other stuff. The Babadook was great, but not scary at all. I wonder if the original Exorcist still holds up. Eh.

That's actually a really good question. My first thought was honestly The Hills Have Eyes remake, but I'll really have to think about it.

Although The Exorcist never triggered the scary or fear element for me.
