"THE HULK" by Loeb and McGuinness

The Professor never seemed much weaker to me. He still kicked just about everyone's ass pretty well. He bled while doing it, but who cares? Functionally, the Professor and the merged Hulk are the same to me.

That was up to the point where the Professor would revert to Savage Banner if he got too angry :whatever:

Yeah, that's pretty much how I look at it.

Yeah, but that was a really high point on his rage-o-meter. How often did he turn to Savage Banner in PAD's run? Once? Twice? He was still ridiculously strong and kicked everyone's ass, so it was practically a non-issue. Granted, if they could make a merged Hulk without that limitation, it'd be cool. I'm fine with it either way. I just want to see Banner's personality in the Hulk's body.

I'd just like to see more of Banner, myself.

There is always the Bruce Jones run ;)

Seriously...I do understand it would be great top have a merged Hulk but I honestly think the planet hulk version was a merged Hulk.

When Banner had full control of the hulk, he wanted out of the hero business.

Bruce Jones' run was decent, if taken as a whole.

I started resubscribing just then and to be honest was quite bored of seeing the Hulk TV show on a magazine with soem very weird twists. Plus Banner using the powers of the Hulk seemed a bit out of whack to me.

The Planet Hulk version seemed to be a merged green/gray Hulk. No Banner.

When Banner had control of the Hulk as the Professor, he was more than happy to continue being a hero. A real hero, not the giant behemoth who breaks **** and just happens to save people every now and then.

I was talking about the Hulk's body controlled by banner in the early 80s not the Professor who was neither truly Banner but a pretty good mix of all.

I think if this merged decided to be a hero it would be great.

I figured PAD just did it because he thought Jones' run sucked. :o

So, how long does everyone give it until the next Hulk/Thor showdown?

I don't see that as coming anytime soon. Both books seem to be on their own set course for now.

Yeah. A very, very slow course, in Thor's case. So, what, like a year or two from now?

Like someone said "Im there but I dont like it".

Red Hulk is bulls**t...like seriously....RED?

Anyone remeber that old fan letter in what if? about the hulk being plaid...turns out it might be true someday lmao.

Red Hulk sounds like the name for an energy drink.

For that showdown to happen both wuold have to be settled in their new settings and Thor will be atleast a year and who knows how long it will take for the Hulk....

I am bagging on 2 years from now.

Bleh, they'll probably all be wrapped up in events in 2 years still. I'm not a huge fan of this status quo where no major heroes are really allowed to have a status quo in their own books because they're constantly tying into events. Events are all well and good, but handle them in minis or the event's own comic unless they're really, really important to that particular character, like Incredible Hulk in WWH or Nova in Annihilation: Conquest.

I agree. Thankfully, some books (like The Order) escape the events and stand on their own.
