Haha yeah that was grating on my boyfriend too when he read it.

I figure being inside most teenage girls heads might be grating. I'm not sure that annoyingness will come through when we don't get to hear her every though :)

:yay:
so just out of curiosity, from your perspective, was she convincingly written? Never having been a teenage girl I have almost no clue what it must be like.

I think so. I think she's written very well, very true to what might go on in a girl's head who is experiencing similar situations.

That might be why it's so very annoying! I know plenty of women who 'gerbil wheel' as my mom calls it. Think about the same things over and over, trying to figure out what is right, or what the solution is.

i hope they have the scene where
Peeta explains the little things about breads and stuff so when Katniss receives the donation from district 11, she's able to realize who she is getting it from and what it means. that will be a poignant important scene for the rest of the trilogy if done right. may seem small but it is the stepping stone to the revolution imo

Oh I think that is very much needed in the flim. It's a very important character moment in the books.

I would love to see the District reactions when they loose their Tributes to the Games.

I'm very curious to see what the [BLACKOUT]zombie-dog-people[/BLACKOUT] things actually look like...

Thanks. It does seem very human to be so concerned about something like that even though the world is crashing down around you. On the whole I was impressed with the writing, but its nice to hear another person's view.
What I really liked was how the books didn't talk down to the readers. I wish these books had been around when I was a teenager.

Just finished the third book. Great, well developed series. And that trailer, makes me even more excited to see the film. I'm not complaining about the lack of violence in the trailer, because it gave the general audience a look at the main storyline. Now some good character shots and footage of the Games can easily be added in official trailer #2, which I have no doubt about. Besides, the trailer was given a G-rating, and I know G is pushed nowadays to farther limits, but I still believe that was one of the main reasons to keep the violence out, so that they could show it at the younger crowd's movies, and keep the interest of the audience watching. Just my opinion, and that said, this movie is still going on my must-see list of 2012.

I am hoping Cato's brutality isn't watered down too much.
looks pretty brutal already

Was Cato blonde in the book? I always pictured him having dark hair. And rodent-looking, but in a good-looking way (if that makes any sense. Yay for imagination lol).
But I'm quite impressed with who they've chosen for the role. That kid got ripped!

Ludwig (Cato) looks like he's bulked up a lot

Katniss didn't start to annoy me until the later books. Her inner struggles in playing the game were interesting and compelling.

yea I dont know about you guys but to me she[BLACKOUT]came off as a **** somtimes idk thats just me.[/BLACKOUT]

She is like that, you're right. But so is Jennifer Lawrence. So I think they're perfect for each other lol. But Katniss is a very conflicted girl who wants everyone to think she has everything under control all the time when she doesn't. She has her guard up all the time.

Wow, that doesn't look all that interesting. The trailer had stuff going for it in terms of cutting, but visually, it doesn't look very exciting.

What about it doesn't excite you Dr. Jones?

HHmmm...it doesn't look that bad actually. I was hearing all these twilight comparisons but this looks like something I could actually sit down and watch. I have no idea what the story is like though, so I'm not sure how much I'd like it

You could google for basic premise. The theme of the movie is survival!

there's a thread in the book forum about it if you wanna know the premise. or wiki or google

I liked the trailer. I've never read the books so it what I needed more than than action shots was something that would set up the strange premise and world of the movie. I'm sure the next trailer will be action-packed.

Honestly the triangle in the book and from the looks of it the movie is less Edward/Jacob/Bella and more Aragorn/Arwen/Eowyn. It's there but it's not what it's about.

Yupp. The romance isn't at all what anyone should expect. I quite like it.

Jennifer and Josh's relationship is a complete fabrication to fool audiences and sponsors into supporting them in the Games. It's very much a social game, not unlike Big Brother or Survivor. Only, Jennifer can't really tell if Josh is doing it to garner support for himself..........or if he really loves her.

Hoping this film doesn't go the way of Twilight... *shudders*

I think perhaps that was one of the things I was really leery of. Its a shame that Twilight has flooded the mainstream so much that even themes brought up in the books (poorly as they may have been handled), can make me feel subconsciously detached from good writing.

Nothing made me go, "Whoa, this is great!" or anything. There were some good parts, but it looks bland. I've never read the books and have no idea how the look of things are suppose to be, but it doesn't stick out to me.

If I could only see one movie from next year, this would be it.
