I just wanted see a movie from the guys who made "International Assassin" and "The Most Powerful Man in the World (and His Identical Twin Brother)" :argh:

I read the screenplay for this, ultimately it has nothing to do with "Red vs Blue" or "Rich vs Poor". I could go on but the twist pretty much explains it.

A CEO named Athena (Swank) & her corporate friends were messing around in a group text and one of the guys joked that Swank had a manor in the woods where she hunts people for sport which wasn't true obviously. This text got leaked via Reddit and people started spreading it around like it was true. The board at her company forced her and the other guys included in the group text, out. So to get even she finds 12 people who "trolled her", kidnaps them, brings them to a rented manor in Croatia & has some hired guns hunt them for real. She's basically an unstable psychopath, also she kidnapped the wrong person (Betty) who happened to have the same name as the person she wanted lmao

I was looking forward to this flick. Didn't know about the political spin, don't care, the trailer was entertaining and one of the reasons I plan on signing up for Regal Unlimited.

Probably buy this if/when release on video just because.

Phone Booth did get delayed, but it didn't get cancelled and it still did well.

I don’t know... still sounds like some rich people **** to me.

You could see it that way, for example...

Swank's character seemed annoyed that a person who used "Their" instead of "There", got her fired. And got upset that the people working for her use the "r-word" when referring to the word rednecks

But this script is from Feb 2018, idk if the script was rewritten because it sounds like it according to the trades.

This decision doesn't make any difference from a moral perspective, but it does from a financial one. The movie itself won't make the situation over in the US any better or worse, but it will more than likely cost Universal money if it's released now. It will get released eventually. If it doesn't, then that's a worrying state for creativity in Hollywood. The film should get released whether you agree with its premise or not.

Well, that sounds like something a regular person could complain about. Like some people really do get annoyed by typos like that or the use of certain words. But everything else really sounds like something only a rich person could do in terms of acting on anger or whatever.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that stayed in terms of showing how the rich have the means to do certain things that your average person does not. Just in this case, it’s not so good.

It'll be released at some point. No way a studio will take a write off of a movie. It'll probably just be thrown on streaming.

This situation is really concerning. Trump can basically check "Censorship of the Arts" off of his "Dictatorship for Dummies" checklist. What's he going to try and stop the release of next?

Part of me wonders if they are doing this to get a bit more attention and then release it at a later date after "so much demand".

You really think Hollywood is doing this for Trump? Lol.

Why else would they do it? Were there people on the Left calling for it to be canceled? Because all I see are high profile conservatives (including POTUS) making that demand and Universal caving. Let's not pretend that there aren't still a lot of very powerful conservatives calling the shots in the entertainment biz.

It's bad enough when the twitter crazies are trying to force creators to do what they want, it's even worse when both the left and right wing nutters are doing it. These corporations put so much value on such a tiny minority of people out of the misguided fear that if they don't cower to their demands it's going to affect their bottom line.

I totally missed all of this. So Trump and the GOP are so concerned about mass shootings that they want to censor violent movies that feature implausible scenarios rather than, I don't know, enact sensible gun laws and/or stop spewing hate speech that inspires racist lunatics to try and rid the country of immigrants. Sounds about right.

Yeah, it's all video games and action movies. They're the real culprits. Have they gone back to blaming Marilyn Manson yet? I know he's almost a senior citizen now and hasn't been popular in years but you never know if the racist Trump supporter who shot up an El Paso Walmart heard a Manson song once or twice in his life and it brainwashed him forever.

God knows after every episode of Game of Thrones my roommates had to tie me up so I wouldn't run out and try to slay my foes with a sword while screaming Valar Morghulis.

This explains much about you.
