For those who have followed with the recent interpretations of this, does anyone know why Nick Fury would allow someone as unpredictable, let alone, uncontrollable as the Hulk be a part of the Avengers team when he could provide to be more harmful than helpful if he loses himself in his own rage?
Which has gotten me to wondering, that if Nick Fury wants to recruit the Hulk persona for the group, what makes him think that the Hulk would be more useful than disastrous given the mess that it's made prior to its fight with the abomination?
This is a great question and I've definitely thought about it before.
Here's how I see it.....I highly doubt Fury will say, "Call the Hulk, I'd like to invite him down for a chat to discuss options." My assumption has been that Hulk will show up in the midst of battle and a choice will be made. He'll choose to fight on the side of the heroes and earn instant cred as an "Avenger". I mean it's not like Fury's going to walk up and say, "Absolutely not, get Hulk out of here...he's not welcome."
I doubt he would go to Ross if he were talking about adding the Hulk to that team. Ross is somebody who's devoted his career tot racking down banner and killing him.Tony Stark's appearance at the end of The Incredible Hulk seems to indicate that they already are considering Hulk for the team...or maybe when he says "We're putting a team together" he means they are thinking about using the team to track Hulk down. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
thats pretty much what i was thinking. Banner may be considered as a valuable teammate because of his science skills and the Hulk is just an added, kind of uncontroleable bonus. lol.MAYBE.... Shield wants to get their hands on Banner to recruit his mind... and the Hulk showing up in the Avengers is because Banner was with Shield and made the conscious decision to "aim" the Hulk at the villians.
I like the sound of that. Would work well, IMO.thats pretty much what i was thinking. Banner may be considered as a valuable teammate because of his science skills and the Hulk is just an added, kind of uncontroleable bonus. lol.
^^ Considering of course that all of these events such as Thor, Iron Man ,etc have all happened in a very short period of time.
Assuming of course that one of the Final Scenes for CA:TFA features Steve walking around in Modern day New York, I wonder if they'll actually reference on the fact that the Hulk and Abomination had nearly leveled the city while fighting each other. I doubt that MUCH TIME would have passed between the fight and Steve waking up to walk in New York to the point where people could have reconstructed everything that was destroyed.
I wouldn't say they nearly leveled the city. Wasn't the fight in TIH confined to mostly one street and a small area? It wasn't as if it took place all across Manhattan.
Good point.Well, if we go by what we saw at the end of Iron Man 2, the attack on Culver University (TIH) took place not that long before the final battle that Tony had with Whiplash.
And Thor's hammer supposedly made its presence known in New Mexico before the final fight as well since Coulson was shown leaving for that place while tony was working on his new reactor.
If CA:TFA takes place in a similar timeframe that Thor and TIH did in terms of its modern day scenes, then it could very well be a possibility.
I think the team means the Avengers when he tells Ross. But that leads to the question why would he be telling Ross this? Ross wants to take Hulk himself.
