The "I loved Spider-Man 3" Thread!

^^ He wasn't really bashing the people who didn't like it. I have a question, what about the people who say the film was bad like it's fact? That gets under my skin.

(P.S. sorry if I'm sounding mean becuase I'm not trying to sound mean.:yay:)

Na I don't think your sounding mean. I don't mind people enjoying the film I just hate when people act like every one who dislikes does not have a valid reason. I have plenty of valid reasons for disliking this film just because that guy doesn't agree doesn't mean they are not valid. Hey at the end of the day it was still better then X3

^^ Alot of people on here have valid reasons for loving or not loving Spidey3. Heck, I have valid reasons for loving S-M3 and I'm pretty sure you do to. Though, I have heard people have stupid reasons (non valid) for not enjoying Spidey3. It gets sickening. :yay:

By "stupid", I'm assuming you mean either "overly nitpicky" and/or questioning plotpoints that were clearly explained.

I've been getting annoyed for the longest about that. State your opinion, but don't make it seem like it's law & anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

We're not trying to say that. It's just that a lot of people do hate it for invalid reasons, and we're speaking to that general group. Guys like you and Joker, do have very good reasons for disliking it. It's just that some people use the opinions we explained, like they're facts, and that they're right and no one should like this movie.

Exactly my thoughts, Silver Spider.

When I was in line last night to see TDK with a friend of mine, I met 2 people that was interested in Batman. I said that Spider-Man 3 was amazing, and one of the kids said S-M3 sucked. Sam Raimi made the film that way on purpose. Then I said, well that's your opinion. What I'm trying to say here is that S-M3 was an amazing film, but because it was so hyped, I guess a few people (from what I heard) found some flaws in the film and started saying it was like Batman Forever. As I have said, S-M3 is the best of the series so far and I think it deserves more respect than it's gotten. I respect everyone's opinion, but I'm really not likeing people saying "emo Peter was bad". He wasn't trying to be emo. The darkness inside Peter was brought out of him and onto his appearance.

To be fair though, and this is coming from someone who likes the movie, it is very flawed and many of the criticisms are valid. I do think it gets too much flack from SOME people, but i can understand the people who didnt like it.

I completely repsect your opinion. I may have loved it alot mroe than alot of people, but as I said, I sitll respect your opinion. :yay:

I really liked SM3, and I thought it got somewhat of a bum wrap. Some of the complaints like Peter crying too much, I get, but others were a bit over the top. I thought it was a good completion to the story line from the first film. I thought it could have used some editing here and there (I could have done without the play by play durring the final battle), but overall I enjoyed the film. I'd say 7.5/10

The biggest problem this film had was the 2nd movie was sooo... good, it was hard to overcome the eventual let down.

Peter actually only cried, like two times. And one time, was just a single tear falling down his cheek. The other was when Harry died, which is totally understandable. People might as well make fun of him, for crying over Uncle Ben's death.
People claim that he cries during the park scene, but he doesn't. And even if he did, it's a complataly valid reason. I mean the girl of his dreams, that he's loved since the fourth grade, just broke up with him.

Actually just watched it now to double check and he does Cry during the park scene I can see him crying as we speak. However, as much as I don't really like this film I think the complaints of him crying is one of the least valid complaints there is. Showing emotion in a movie is a good thing.

I agree.
I'm watching the movie as well, and he doesn't really cry. He's about to and his voice is starting to break, but no tear actually falls from his face.

Crying is more than just water falling from your eyes.

to utter inarticulate sounds, esp. of lamentation, grief, or suffering, usually with tears.

Notice it says usually with tears but not always.

I heard that criticism a lot, especially when the movie first came out. Is he supposed to be made of stone, just because he puts on a costume & punches people? Spider-Man's vulnerability has always been one of the staples of the character. I would've been bothered if the sight of his best friend dying DIDN'T effect him emotionally.

I know what you mean. It's like your gonna cry over your best friend in the entire world being killed ? wimp.

It's just mostly imature little kids who don't understand emotion yet and think by talking crap about the way it was done they will be more manly. Put them in the exact situation and they would probably cry even more than he did.

I always thought genuine crying, was when all of the above occured, but I guess you're right.:yay:
But like I said, the park scene, was a completely valid time to cry.

problem is that he cries too much for a superhero, ok im cool with him crying when someone dies in a movie, for a chick and other drama its like wtf. Im being honest, it doesn't bother me when pete cries, but they really need to stop with that now. he cried twice in SM1 and twice in SM3.

What's crying too much for a superhero? Superheroes are superheroes, because they have strong emotions and care about people. If he was crying over some spilt milk, yeah that would be lame. But with everything that happened to him, those moments in the movie were completely reasonable reasons to cry.

i agree, but i also disagree. The scene in SM1 when he's in his room crying, they could have easily takin that out, and just make pete look sad, maby throw in a few flashbacks or put some sad music, but tears weren't needed in that scene. Also the scene where MJ is breaking up with him. comon, i know he cared about her since he was little, but they could of just have him shocked and confused, the tears weren't needed at all.

Like I said, tears were not in the break-up/park scene. As for the scene in SM1; I thought it worked.

im just saying the next time pete cries, it better be because Aunt May dies or if the ***** MJ dies
