Hey TMOB you don't like Ultimate?

But the movies aren't in continuity:o

Aloha,
Unless it's a documentary, NO movie is within the continuity of the book it's based upon. However, the original idea of the Countdown was to highlight the Amazing Spider-Man(the foundation of the character) in relation to the movies. All three movies took elements from Amazing Spider-Man and related IN CONTINUITY comics. Not going to go on an ANTI Ultimate rant (I'll save that honor for TMOB:word:), as much as to say that the movies SO FAR- are based upon Amazing Spider-Man and not an alternate universe Spider-Man. But, if you want to start a countdown using all Alternate Spider-Man books(Ultimate,Spider-Man 2099,Unlimited v.2)-Go For It!

Well, I was referring to the new movie, which I've heard is gonna have an influence from Ultimate Spider-Man:o

I'm just giving TMOB a hard time, I know how much it'll pain him to actually do it:csad:

It sure was nice when the covers actually were an indication of what was going on inside. That was one of the things I disliked most about JMS' run.

Well to be fair, most of the indication came from all the words that cluttered up the cover.

They were a LOT more informative than those boring Ultimate covers...

:sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy:

:yay:

For everyone who would dare say Spidey is at his low-point, cast your eyes on these recent beauties. The immediate relaunch with Mackie/Byrne was almost unreadable. For example, does anyone even remember Shadraq's convoluted back-story? lol... and while we're at it, nice name, Shaddy. :awesome:

Exactly. It was unreadable to me.

He was a supervillain or something with some girl. And then she got injured and so he took part in Normans "Gathering of Five" ritual thing. That's also where the new Spider-man in this reboot is from.

You are trying to make it sound sane. And it's still crazy. :oldrazz:

Yes, Spider-Mattie. Terrible character at her inception, but she's been redeemed in other stories since I hear. At the time of the relaunch I was around 15 and 16, so I didn't realize the extent of how messed up this was, but Mattie was supposed to be 15 and they had her on an ASM cover making out with a recently widowed 20-something Spider-Man. I'm surprised that crap got approved. The CCA... censoring tame words like "damn" or "hell", but by all means showcase statutory rape. (Okay, maybe not "rape", but it was definitely a jail-baity cover)

"Where R U Spider-Man????" - 30 Pages

Oh, the horror, the horror!

Who the hell are half those characters? We have turkey-neck guy and one looks like Buzz from the 'Daily Grind', but clearly isn't. And what kind of title is that "Where R U Spider-Man???" Sounds like someone came up with that title over AOL Instant Messenger. Gotta love the craptitude of the late 90's Spidey books. :awesome:

I like the title for issue #443....

"I Can't...(And I Don't Want To)...But I Must!"

That's a stinker even by cheesey Stan Lee standards...

:awesome:
