Well, I like the Deadpool version of this story by Joe Kelly (DP#11 vol.3) much more than the original. So different strokes for different folks.
I agree with Al, MJ was dumb as a post in that issue

This is the one comic that I can clearly remember begging my mom and dad to buy me back when I was in 5th or 6th grade ('95 -'96). At the time this was the oldest comic with the Lizard that I had ever seen with my own eyes. I was aware of ASM #6 and what that cover looked liked from the Marvel Masterpieces 1992 Lizard trading card (the cover was shown on the back of the card) and I also knew of and owned copies to ASM #76 and #77 already, but did not know of this issue until that fateful day that I walk into that local comic shop and saw this comic hanging on their wall. It would be a few years later until I saw and owned a copy of ASM #44.
It's interesting that if I had access to the internet and websites like samruby.com back then how different my experience of seeing these older Spidey comics for the first time would have been.

Back in the 70's/80's, we had nothing to refer to the older covers other than Marvel Tales reprints, which reprinted the cover of the original ASM that was contained therein.

The internet would have blown my mind back then...

I've never read this, but now I want to. This cover just grabs me, especially the tagline.
