I've been a little busy, but when I saw this I wanted to point out the writer.

For those of you not familiar with the name, he's the Author of Locke and Key, and a few novels...Heart-Shaped Box, Horns, and 20th Century Ghosts, an awesome collection of short stories in the horror genre.

I, unfairly, didn't read his stuff for a long time, probably a knee-jerk reaction to his famous father, who I like a lot. (He's gone to a pretty good length not to advertise that, so I won't here, either. Look it up yourself!)

Anyways, I would highly recommend his stuff. 'nuff said.

I own almost all of today's issues (the ASM one in reprint). I especially love the story of the missing Liberty torch in the 'Web' issue (what a crazy, inspired premise) and the 'Sensational' issue with Pete's student helping him fight Doc Ock.
And of course I can't forget 'Something about a Gun' in adjectiveless. Yeah, it's preachy and heavy-handed, but you really got a feel for the playground torment the kid went through.

I loved the storyline running through the title here, and remember liking it more than the main title at the time.

I have a great fondness for titles probably between 30 cents and 50 cents. Not because of the price, but because that was when I first was really getting into them.

It's amazing how cheap comics were once. When I started buying they were 75 cents. Imagine a time when you could put down two or three quarters and walk out with a comic. Now my dealer lets me off if I'm two or three quarters short.

When I read this issue the first time I didn't know what came up to me, I used to loathe Carnage a lot, read this one and enjoyed it

Skipped the C&D story, enjoyed the rest
