I'd never heard of this 'Dog Soldiers' before, so I just googled it based on your guys' conversation, and it looks cool. I'm going to rent it. I like to think I'm in touch with pop-culture and geeky cinema, so I'm surprised this is the first time I'm hearing about it.

So Harry Connick Jr. and Ryan Seacrest can take a leap for all I care. If you didn't watch Idol, then you missed out on some awkwardly tense television.

Give us the highlights Loca. I love Harry, but I am afraid to ask what the hubbub is. Was he bigoted or something?

Once again... Visit the Film Recommendations thread in Misc. Films and drop some science on us, or just browse and see what's been posted. You might find a film that interests you.

No. The contestant who apparently robbed Jimi Hendrix's wardrobe was getting upset that his best friends were in the bottom 2 of the show. He made a pouty face about it and Seacrest stopped him before leaving the stage to tell him and the audience why he was so upset. He told him that the whole situation was "whack" that he's going to lose a friend and Ryan tries to educate him on how the process of a competition works. He understands but is still upset and gets back to his seat. Then Harry asks Ryan if they have cut to commercial only for Ryan to answer that they're still live. Harry then tells the contestant that he shouldn't bite the hand that feeds him and that Idol is spending a ton of money for these contestants. The contestant then walks right up to Harry like he is about to hit him or something and tells him in a very tense manner what he meant when he said the "this thing is whack". Ryan then tries to diffuse the situation by pushing Harry's point further.

All I got was the contestant was upset and Ryan goaded it for potential scandal and ratings. Harry should have waited until commercial to tell him what he said instead of trying to "educate" him. No one was in the right or wrong, but it just made for such an awkward moment.

IT's a good movie....there was a fair amount of discussion about it years ago....but it's fallen off the map now a days for some reason.

New Star Wars trailer. Awesome!!!!!!

It's better than the first teaser that's for sure.

It definitely looks awesome all around, I only wish they would have done this maybe 10 years earlier or so, Han Solo has a lot of mileage on him.

I can understand Wookiee: what Chewbacca is saying there is, "Look, it's the old glove compartment where we used to hide our weed, I mean spice."

I can only hope this washes out the bad aftertaste left by the prequels.

They weren't the greatest films ever, but still have some entertainment value, at least for me.

Seeing as these movies are going to be reminiscent of the original trilogy, the prequels are going to feel even weirder. The odd ones out.

I don't know. We'll have to agree to disagree (as we do with Roger Moore's Bond ;) ). The last one (Revenge of the Sith) was okay. I liked the Anakin-slayed-the-younglings scene. And I liked Darth Maul in the first one. But those were just two slices of bread holding a crap sandwich together. :o

This sums up my feelings about the prequels pretty well. Thanks, boys.
Now, as for the new Star Wars trailer, just...everything is beautiful now.

Which makes the Zam Wessell chase scene the mushy piece of bread you get in the middle of the Big Mac ... except again, crap sandwich.

I love your new avatar, ST. 'Do the Evolution' is one of my favorite music videos of all time.

Love your analogy there Triple J, actually made me chuckle a bit. What I really hated was that Anakin was such a whiner about everything. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd JarJar Binks. Ugh.
