The Incredible Hulk Gallery: The Official Pictures Thread

I actually agree with that, they will get that advanced one day, just not yet. I also think within the next couple of decades we won't need actors anymore because cgi will get so good we won't need them, just their voices, that's just me though.

maybe, but for now i think modern cgi out rules any video game

Just think what your grandkids will be playing when they grow up. The graphics and gameplay of today's best games will look like PONG compared to what will be the norm 10-20 years from now. I thought that PONG was just about the coolest thing when I first saw it. Then came Atari, Intellivision and ColecoVision (the system I had). Then a lull for some time before the Nintendo and later SuperNintendo. No one with an Atari would have believed a SuperNintendo was figuratively around the corner. It's kind of frightening to think what our next two generations will be playing with.

has anyone seen the latest videogames? they are just mind blowing, i think that the videogame graphics are getting so advanced that they will rival the ones that we see on movies.

It's pretty close right now, since they are using the various tech that was used to fabricate film cg in produsing the animation on these games.

Video Game??!?? thats absurd, no way with todays technology would a game be displayed on a screen, its just........impossible. Only in the comics son
thats what im saying, no video game is gonna beat cgi in modern films so far, maybe within the next 20 yrs.
so to all that say the the movie looks like a video game, i wanna know what system youve been playing cause the ps3 and 360 must be obsolete if the graphics on your games look that good!

man it took a crapload of hours to render one of those Transformers, it took them all of like 1 month to make the damn movie game.

Lol, no, and to stress this enough, the movie game doesn't really "look" good, not saying the game won't be fun but to say the game itself is visually appealing? Nah. Looks like moving action figures.

There are games out that that rival what are in movies, and I wouldn't doubt they could catch up. Oh, yeah, and those hours of rendering? You think games don't go through that too? Lol.

Actually they were obsolete before they even came out seeing as they were doing then what PC's could years before... but hey, PC gaming is virtually dead and you'd have to be a freaking millionaire to keep up with the tech.

The closest thing to CGI in a video game would be Crysis on PC running at max settings. (but how many people have that bad ass of a PC)

Of course i meant that, the CGI in videogames are not at the level of the CGI in movies (i wish it was, it would be amazing) but what i meant that seeing the force unleashed, gears of war 2 and other games you can see how fast the graphics improve in this consoles. Also i think that games make the same amount of money (or even more) than movies so i would expect to see huge leaps in gaming technology in a few years

I've never played a game that has graphics that beats movie CGI.

If you ask me, the leap from Xbox to 360 and Ps2 to Ps3 really isn't THAT impressive. I mean, look at the first Ninja Gaiden, and then at Ninja Gaiden 2. It really does look better, but not as much as it should.

The biggest leap in technology to me, was from N64 to Gamecube. I remember being amazed at how great SSBM looked in comparison to the first SSB.

So what I guess I'm trying to say is that I really doubt game graphics will even be close to movie CGI for a very long time to come.

You have to realize that Video games have to be rendered in real time. The only exception being games that have pre-rendered cut scenes and in those cases the pre-renered stuff always looks better than actual game play.

The time it takes to render a cgi image you see on film is insane. The computers they use to do it are so far out of the price range of the average computer it's not even funny. In fact it usually takes several comptuers because one will be rendering this 10 seconds while another will be rendering another 10 seconds. Add that up for a 2 hour movie and you have a lot of PC power and rendering time... Now an 8-40 hour game is a whole other story and you think as a gamer you want to wait 10 - 15 minutes for an area to render just to play for 10-20 seconds and wait again?

Some day maybe video games will be where today's CGI is now but I doubt it will be any time soon and I doubt it will be afordable. by then movie CGI will be a lot further advanced at that point.

I'm still a big fan of the N64. I never understood why people were so into the Playstation. Other than great cut-scenes, the graphics were poor and the gameplay was usually quite bad. N64 had creativity in the few games that came out for it.
As for now, I think Wii is the only contender, although I like the X-Box 360. I just like the controls. I played PS3, and liked some of the graphics, but the gameplay wasn't there.
I apologize for giving such a general review. Just my opinions here... and no, I'm not more into Nintendo than anything else. I just like their creativity.
As for the Hulk game, that to me is exactly what I want to see on new consoles. I just want to go around the city and smash everyone and thing. Awesome!
Will videogames ever reach where movies are at? It doesn't matter to me. I just want the games to be interesting and fun.

i enjoy the wii, but i can't imagine getting Hulk for it when i have a 360.

Yeah, Wii is good for it's exclusives only. If it's multi-platform it's bound to get shafted.... but this type of talk really should be in the game thread! :oldrazz:

IESB says they have more in their gallery, but this was the only new one that really stood out.

I don't see how someone can look at that and call it bad cgi but we all know someone will.

Oh there will be someone calling this bad cgi or it looks like thier xbox, it never fails.

btw, pic looks awesome
