Animation glitch I noticed; When Peter comes home all "WoooooHooooo!" in the begining, he grabs Aunt May's hand to dance with her. She's wearing a yellow sleeveless but in the close-up, you can see her usual long, purple sleeve.

For those of you who don't like the fact that spidey was pwn by tombstone, personally i think it's great. Spidey should get pwned on a regular basis, he should always be the underdog in a confrontation. The comics have just jacked up his powers way too much so he gets to fight people like the hulk for publicity.

let tombstone kick his ass, it makes him more formidable.

Get pwned on a regular basis? Always be the underdog in a confrontation? As powerful as Spider-Man is, doesn't that sound kinda dumb? This isn't Batman or Daredevil after all.

Kingpin can't kick Spider-Man's ass, does that make him any less formidable? I'm all for Spider-Man getting his ass whooped, but by physically stronger villains, like Rhino, Scorpion, Venom, so forth, and not by physically inferior villains.

Seriously...this show just keeps getting better and better.

This ep was by far the best Spidey cartoon I've ever seen. The writers have managed to strike that perfect balance between updating the material and remaining faithful to the classic Lee/Ditko era. Bendis didn't do it as well in the Ultimate SM comic, and Raimi didn't do it as well in the movies.

I'm still distracted by the character design at times, so the art style is still an 8/10 for me, but the writing, characterization and animation on this show are now a 10/10 in my book.

Bring on a Spectacular Spider-Man DVD movie -- I'll buy it!

the whole point of having spidey fighting people with enhanced abilities is that it provides him with a greater threat to tackle.

If tombstone is going to be a major player as 'the big man', then surely he has to act the part and not feel intimidated by spiderman in any shape or form, the intimidation should come the other way round.

I'm much happier seeing spidey get his ass kicked then not because it ultimately helps his peter parker storyline more as he is ultimately the greatest under appreciated underdog out there. ESPECIALLY if they are portraying him as still being a child.

you say he's not batman or daredevil but the way marvel writes him sometimes, he might as well be superman.

The problem is that in making spidey stronger and stronger, you're wounding his rogue gallery list so why not ground the character in order to make all his villains greater threats instead of having the only person able to beat him being galactus...

Also --- keep in mind that Spidey had just taken quite a beating from the Rhino when he went after Lincoln. Spidey probably wasn't in top form and he wasn't expecting Lincoln to have superpowers, thus he briefly got smacked down.

there's no need to make excuses for spidey, people are always making excuses for him.

Let's just face the fact he underestimated tombstone and got his ass kicked.

It's all part of great character development for both characters.

It reminds me of the way spidey got his ass kicked by black tarantula back in the day but that was a more embarassing feat.

No matter, the greatest blow tombstone dealt was getting the police to turn on him

They have done something that has never been done with them, they are getting depth and real personalities to boot. They are even getting episodes all to themselves.

Well, I have to say it after watching th latest episode: This is the greatest thing to happen to Spider-Man in general since the movies started up, back in 2002.

Seriously, this is the closest to seeing the comics come to life on a screen that we'll ever get. MJ's introduction was PERFECT. I couldn't help thinking back to the original introduction of MJ in the comics and how it actually took place right around a Rhino appearance. Good stuff.

Awww, people are still not down with Spidey getting a 4 second beat down to Tombstone? While it was surprising to me that it happened, it wasn't surprising to me that Tombstone could do this to someone like Spider-Man.

The makers of this show have said that the them is "The education of Peter Parker." They said they are gonna take this kid to school and I honestly believe they are gonna do that both in and out of the suit.

Keep in mind that, although Spidey is strong, he's only been Spider-Man for 4 months. He's still new at this. Yes, he did underestimate Tombstone and he got owned for doing so. Tombstone on the other hand has been at his racket for a long time and he's very experienced at it.

And man, MJ did deliver her line with a hint of seduction in her voice. I liked.

It was a great episode and and I think the series is on its way to surpassing TAS. There are some things I think TAS did better (character models excluding Peter and MJ's outfit, music, Norman Osborn, Curt Conners, Doc Ock and a few others) but in 6 episodes it is doing amazingly well and shows a lot more room to work than Fox censors allowed the '90s show.

However, one thing I do still prefer about TAS is the voice acting. I understand since they are in high school (as opposed to graduate school aged like in TAS) that they have to sound younger but I think TAS did MJ's intro better simply because of delivery:
