i got the idea for this from gee's "mr fantastc vs" thread
if susie had to go ono on one with somebody who'd it be and how would she do???

given the right circumstances, family in immediate danger.....she could kick anyone's ass.....LOL

well, shes not really much of a fighter, more of a defender with her barrier abilitys, so i wouldnt say she could fight well on her own

As of now....barrier's are the least of her power......

She's not defending anyone here......she's kicking Super Skrull's ass....

you mess w/ her family.....everything else about Sue is thrown out the window.....

Agreed.

In The X-Men vs Fantastic Four mini series from awhile back, Sue took out Rogue, Dazzler, and Longshot all by herself in just a few seconds, iirc...

I always thought that was pretty cool, lol.

As a member of the new Fantastic Four, Sue was at first the weakest link. She could turn invisible (duh!) but that was it, and she wasn't particularly strong. But Sue eventually discovered that she had another power---the ability to create invisible force fields. Over the years, Susan became much more adept at using these powers. For example, instead of just using her force field for defensive purposes, Sue can also use them as a weapon to attack foes. Indeed, Sue has been able to single handedly defeat the Thing, the She-Hulk (both with altered personalities), Titania, and the Absorbing Man. Her force-field has managed to sustain attacks by nuclear explosions and the Hulk. Today, one can convincingly argue that she is now the most powerful member of the Fantastic Four.Furthermore, while Susan cannot fly, she can use her force field to elevate herself and others through the air---as high as ten miles above the surface of the Earth. (Valeria is especially fond of using this power to "surf" through the air, much to the chagrin of Susan, who worries about her daughter losing concentration in mid-air.) In addition to making herself invisible, Susan can also extend a field of invisibility to include other objects or persons. Finally, although this is not a "power" granted to her through cosmic radiation, Sue has trained extensively in martial arts since becoming one of the Fantastic Four and currently holds a black belt in judo, karate, and shaolin kung fu. Also, since her run in with Malice and Psychoman, she can move into people's minds that she has a connection w/ as in "Psychoman"...because he did the same to her....in a recent MK issue this is dealt with.

given her line of work ,self defense lessons would be advisable

Its a hell of alot closer than the UFF...

The kids are the same age in the MK and Reg....etc...etc....etc....

The only difference is that Sue is a teacher....everything else is pretty much the same....

is MK not part of regular continuity? i always thought it was. just different stories.
anyway sue can beat almost anyone who relies on oxygen, she is also tough against those who don't. someone like superman would take her down but it would take someone like that. syrin and songbird can beat her because he powers do not stop sound.
shes awesome tho, and what a body too!

Lets have Supes grab Valeria or Franklin....and just see what happens....LOL;)

woah...and here was me thinking she sucked because of her performence in fights in the movie..i see her on a total different scale now, taking into consideration the fact that she took out those people in the xmen vs fantastic 4 mini series..

Remember the movie was just an introduction to their powers....i have a feeling we will see much more from her in the sequel...

any more ideas for sue's opponents?

SPOLILER WARNING MK4#28

In MK4 #28 Sue is threatening a powerful lawyer who has been physically and emotionally abusing his wife. In it, she shows how precise she has become manipulating her forcefields. To the point she puts a "tiny" squeeze on some internal organs to prove what she could do to the man and never leave any evidence of it behind if he was to ever mess with the woman again. There really is not too many opponents out there anymore she could not put down big time given the right circumstances. Anymore it kind of looks like the ones she would be most vulnerable to in a fight are those that can become intangible.

You know thats really kind of cool if you think about it.....the one person in Marveldom that could be the most ruthless is in reality and personality one of the kindest....very cool in my opinion.

That is the great thing about Sue and all of the Fantastic four, any one of them could be ruthless and take the easy way out when it comes to a fight, but they don't. They show great restraint and find other ways and succeed. It kind of puts the "hero" back in superhero.

Sue has also trained in the martial arts with Iron Fist for a time so she can bring those skills to bear too I remember in FF 1234, she threatened to put tiny little force field bubbles in Victor's brain, which would probably cause a stroke. She can kick major @$$ when she has to but she would be very reluctant to use her powers in a lethal manner unless provoked. You get the feeling that if she were able to, she would walk away from the superhero thing and just have a normal family life with Reed and the children.

i thought the same thing about her wanting to walk away until i believe its MK damn can't remember which one, anyway she and Reed are talking on the roof, and Reed is talking about how Franklin was so happy when they all had normal jobs and a normal life....and she says....but thats not who they are....they are the Fantastic Four, and thats who they should be....

I also believe Susan can beat any character in both the M.U. and DC, i also believe that out of all the heroes in the M.U. Susan is probably the only one who can single handedly beat Galactus. And i also agree whole heartedly that she is the most powerful of the four, think about it. Remember when Terrax raised Manattan into orbit to blackmail the F.F. into fighting Galactus, and how Susan projected a force field aroud the island to protect the people amd to keep the sir in? She wasn't as strong as she is now, that's why i posted the above about her single handedly beating Galactus.

But back to the question of who she shouls face off against, I would have to say it would be against someone she could really unleash her powers against with out holding back. And there are only two characters..okay maybe three (That i know of.), that she could do this against. One is the aforementioned Galactus, two would have to be the Beyonder, (Whatever happened to him anyway?) three i'd say Mephisto.

Soonerfan!!

The Beyonder was merged with the Molecule Man and became a Cosmic Cube. I think this was back in FF#319-320, when Doom tackled the Beyonder about getting his memory back after he got caught up in that time loop that started when the Beyonder brought him into the Secret Wars.

Or those that she loves the most....:) I just got that particular MK4 issue the other day....she was scary in that one....scared herself even....

Little optimistic with all that Galactus talk. Galactus can just suck the power right out of Sue. But points for the faith in Sue. :D

As for Sue's powers, don't forget how she's been turning people optic nerves invisible lately, in effect blinding people. That's a fine tuned power she's been using lately.

I'd like to see Invisible Woman vs Phoenix in a sweet matchup. I have no idea how a Sue vs Jean Grey would turn out. But it would be one heck of a show.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

I really don't think Sue could take Glactus. Maybe she could rough him up, but not full out beat him. He has the powers of the cosmos at his beckon call. All he needs to do, is create a beam to atomize Sue. And If Galactus were to punch Sue's force field hard enough, it would create a feedback that would knock her out, or make her brain damaged or somethintg... She can barely keep an enraged/Savage Hulk at bay with her forcefields Galactus is alot bigger and stronger than Hulk. Then agian, I'm the guy who has almost all the FF comics, but never finds time to read them.

Just my Opinion. Take it as you wish.

Punching Out.
