So you hate all Warner Bros films? That is pretty weird.

No, truth be told most WB films as with any studio I simply will never see. I only watch maybe 5-10 new movies a year. I don't even hate all WB/DC films. I like BB, Superman1 and 2 after all. But sadly that's about all I can go with them on. The rest I either didn't like(Supes3&4, 1st four Batman movies, Supergirl, Watchmen, V4V, Constantine, TDKR, GL, etc.) or really hated(TDK, Steel, Catwoman). So, given how I see things...I'll see MoS but I'll only root for it BO-wise if it's good.

International opening was ridiculous; never would I have expected such a huge turnout. I'd say it's time to adjust those predictions, but with the divided opinion on the controversy surrounding the film, I'd say it's still anyone's guess.

There isn't any divided opinions, the film is pretty much universally acclaimed. It's just some comic book fans on the internet up in arms about them changing something from the comics.

The general audience could probably care less about certain changes and just want to enjoy Iron Man action at its finest.

Truth :word:

Yeah I agree.

Yes. The numbers from BO and critics, so far, pretty much tell us this divided opinions/audience has no basis.

I was speaking with regard to the twist that a lot of folks seem to be huffing and puffing about. The widespread acclaim is undeniable, of course.

If a universally panned movie like Transformers 2 (400m+ domestic) and Transformers 3 (1.1bn WW) make huge money why not IM3 that has glowing reviews from critics? It has The Avengers mojo going for it (not just the added goodwill but same RT rating as well).

I Liked Constantine .
Although, sometimes I feel like the only one , LOL.

I liked Constantine too. Though I haven't read the comics so my only point of judgement is the movie itself. Maybe I liked it for the wrong reasons because of the novelty of it being directed by music video director Francis Lawrence who at that time was his debut film (he later followed it up with I Am Legend and most recently Catching Fire). Good film nonetheless.

Nice point and user name.

I happen to be schizo too. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hopefully you'll stay with us for a while.

No one who gives a fig about what a critic says was going to see those TF movies anyway. They're critic proof. Superhero movies on the other hand are expected to actually be good and thus traditionally they usually aren't critic proof.

Thank you fellow schizoid :)

Yeah I plan to stay awhile unless someone pisses me off, everyone is so argumentative here LOL.

There's no doubt in my mind that this movie will have a huge opening weekend domestically. However, I think that this movie has a 50/50 chance of having a huge drop off in it's second weekend onward. I think that the main thing this movie has going against it is the lack of Iron Man action. Hell, we got more Iron Man action/fight scenes in the AVENGERS movie than we got in this movie (and that movie had a larger ensemble cast). I'm pretty sure that most moviegoers don't go into this movie expecting and wanting to see Tony Stark and Rhodey kicking butt without their armor. They want to see them kicking butt wearing their armor. What's the point of calling this movie "IRON MAN" when there is very little Iron Man action in it?

But there's more actual action in the movie than in the previous Iron Man films combined. I doubt it'll be an issue.

Sounds great :woot:

I find it odd that people are complaining about the lack of IM, but others state this film has FAR more action than IM1 or 2.

The villains gave
Iron Man a harder time in this movie compare to the 1st 2 IM movies
.

Technically regular red and gold iron man didnt show up until over 1 hr and 10 min into IM1. IM1 & 2 were not very action packed I would say. RDJ and the story is why I liked IM1 so much. If there's one superhero that could ever get away with barely showing the suit it's Iron Man because of RDJ.

Man IM3 is going to clobber TDKR at this rate. Disney hit a gold mountain the size of Everest and K2 combined, when they bought Marvel.

I have a friend who will be seeing a screening on Wednesday,
She is not into comics, but she is a huge RDJ fan and LOVED IM1.

Probably because Tony uses individual parts of the armor and not the full suit in this one.

If we are speaking technically, IM3 pretty much had more action in it than Avengers, which really only had 3 big sequences, if i would count the ones IM3 has it would be 5 major sequences and that's not counting all the action moments in between.

Yeah but I wonder when will they have their logo on posters and the opening of the movie.

I thought the deal with Paramount was over after The Avengers.
