He's still a goblin just not the hobgoblin or green goblin. He's either another one of the golbins or a completely new goblin created by Sam Raimi and his crew.

Here is how I hope the climax plays out.

After MJ has been scared ****less by Venom (who has revealed himself and given to Pete and given Pete a deadline to be at a certain construction site) Peter accepts he has to face his enemy even if the "no-spider-sense-fear" is present. And MJ chastizes him but accepts it. At the same time we cut to Harry in the hospital waking up and looking around. His father urges him out of bed and under the guidance to avenge him he escapes and when a nurse comes in Harry is gone.

Spidey swings and arrives at the construction site wearing the red and blue for the first time in over half the movie. Guess who appears then? Why none other than Venom and Sandman working together to kill him. The **** hits the fan and the entire area and city block (I hope) becomes a warzone. News reports flood the TV that a city block is under attack and the police are helpless. This tv is on in the Osborn Mansion as Harry suits up (in whatever he wears) one last time.

Cut back to the fighting and Spidey is getting his ass kicked. As the fight continues and Venom gloats Harry comes in and sees Spider-Man and tries to kill him. He ends up in a brawl for the right with Sandman while Venom takes this oppurtunity to move in for the kill on the weak Spider-Man himself taking the barely conscious body and running with it and mocking as he throws Peter around like a rag doll. Harry somehow defeats Sandman only to turn and see his best friend unmasked and about to be slaughtered by Venom once and for all.

Norman is in his head saying just allow it to happen let the revenge be had or kill Peter for yourself. He looks confused and then drops his bomb on the ground in the sand (defused) and flies straight in and rescues Peter from Venom. All the while Norman's voice screaming "NOO, NO, NOOOO! YOU WEAK FOOL! STOP." As Spidey comes to his enses he sees Harry duke it out with Venom, and Venom bite into Harry for not allowing Brock his sweet vengence (the theme is running here) and kills the weakling. As Harry dies Peter is allowed to mourn him in his last words as a asatisfied Venom watches on. As the rain starts to pour Peter stands up and puts his mask back on. It is now just Spider-Man vs. Venom one-on-one. Peter is looking at his dark side and he is one ugly mother****er.

That is how I hope it plays out though.
