Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

Rotten Tomatoes consensus:
"Joker gives its infamous central character a chillingly plausible origin story that serves as a brilliant showcase for its star -- and a dark evolution for comics-inspired cinema."

OK, I just was on RT and there is no score there? What score are you talking about?

Reading through these reviews, I'm starting to get scared this movie will suffer from the "Fight Club Effect".

Looks like we are gonna have another breathtaking performance on our hands and a breathtaking film. Lots of people doubted this film would work, and I'm so happy everybody was proven it could and did. Bring it on!

I'm really interested to see how the Academy deals with this film and Phoenix's performance. Frankly I think they might ignore Phoenix's performance either because they are snobs, or because they gave Ledger an Oscar for his great work as the Joker and wont feel like giving another actor an Oscar for playing the Joker.

Joaquin is probably winning the Oscar. It's between him and Adam Driver

They wouldn't have given Ledger an Oscar if he hadn't died. Not taking anything away from his performance, but the Academy just doesn't take CBMs seriously.

I don't agree with this notion. Never have. He was winning that year regardless. Too much of a critical and cultural tour-de-force to deny. His competition was either a comedic RDJ in blackface or a very subdued Josh Brolin. Nobody was beating it.

From what i read, most of the negative reviews mostly talk about how controversial the movie is gonna be instead ot it's quality, which makes me want to see this even more.

The fact that the Oscars snubbed the dark Knight for best picture still ticks me off honestly. I'll never forgive them if they do it again
