Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

The fact that it made 4M too in Mexico's first day, whoa!! i can see it my theater was packed af in the first showing of Joker and during the rest of the days some friends send me messages how they loved this film

The fact that Phoenix is not against starring in a possible sequel makes me so happy. The question is, where would we go from here? Batman or no Batman?
No Batman but they can have (elseworlds )Detective Gordon, Crispus Allen, Renee Montoya, Harvey Dent, Ellen Yindel, Harvey Bullock.

I was thinking about it earlier and I would like to see Bruce Wayne as an adult, possibly realisiing the role his father played in his own demise, using his power and influence to try and fix Gotham only to slowly fall to despair due to the reality that it can't be done....which would lead to the final act where the audience finds out that Bruce had a back up that he was always working on and he absolutely did not want to use; Batman.

That to me is how I'd see Batman in this world coming into fruition. Fleck would be incarcerated playing a Lecter type role to Bruce.

Batman but I dunno which actor can match Phoenix's talent.

I don't know if he can do an American accent but Richard Madden would be age appropriate and be able to match the intensity.

I cannot believe this film is projected to make $95M this weekend...even getting close to $100M after projected near $50 just a few weeks ago

“I hope my death makes more Cents than my life.”

I thought the movie itself was okay. It's one of those instances where a great movie is in there somewhere, but the script bogs it down. Things get pretty heavy-handed at times.

The MVPs are Phoenix, the score, and the cinematography. While I'm not high on the movie, I'd recommend it just for these three things alone. Phoenix basically carries it.

Right now I'd give it a 7/10. Without Phoenix, I'd really be tempted to give it a 5/10. It's not a masterpiece, nor is it a disaster. It's right down the middle of the road, elevated by an Oscar-worthy performance.

For what it's worth, any critic that walked out of this thinking it was dangerous should be ashamed of themselves for pushing and exaggerating that narrative. I walked out and my immediate impression was, "That's it? That's what people are freaking out about?" Talk about a whole lot of nothing.

I still prefer Ledger, but Phoenix 100% belongs in the Oscar conversation. I just wish the movie itself had lived up to what Phoenix achieved here. If his performance had a better overall movie around it, Joker would have been next-level.

Batman would have to be addressed I feel, otherwise what's the point? There's a lot they could do with showing Batman from Joker's perspective, is Batman even real or just Joker's mental exaggeration of someone/something else? Because of how obviously unreliable Joker's perspective is, and how much the chaos in the story escalates it'd be a great opportunity to make Batman look like he came straight out of a horror film.

It would be reallly interesting to see Batman through Arthur Fleck's twisted mind.

Bro, This would be truly epic. My mind is going into over drive just thinking about it.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. Some of the script really brought the film down for me.

Hildur Guðnadóttir’s score might be my favorite of the year. “Call Me Joker” is such a beautiful piece of music.

Jake Gyllenhaal.
That dude has delivered some stellar performances over the years. Also has the good looks.

This movie doesnt have to be in the same universe as The Batman with Pattinson

I'm just curious why The Batman takes place in the 90s.

WB might as well connect it to the Batman. With the success of this movie, I think they would be crazy not to. You can bring Todd on as Executive producer or something.

Feel duty bound to point out that if you enjoyed Joker, and haven’t seen The King Of Comedy and Taxi Driver, then you should probably remedy that as soon as possible.
