Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

WB Developing A Standalone Mr. Freeze Movie Outside The DCEU

I'd say this could work. Victor and Nora history is really a sad tale.

Much of Bruce’s moral centre comes from his father’s influence. That’s always been the case. People are only suddenly deciding it’s okay for Thomas to be a bit of a bad guy because they still really want Batman to exist in this universe, despite it being vastly unlikely.

Telltale Batman did the “What If Thomas Wayne was bad?” Question and I thought it brought an interesting layer to Bruce’s sense of self/purpose.

Yeah, I really liked what Telltale did. It was a very interesting and fresh take on Batman.

In that story, Bruce doesn't find out about Thomas' true character until he's already become Batman. Presumably it would be the same for this Bruce. Because he's so young, he would likely only have the idealized memory of his father.

Right! I was thinking the same thing. I’m sure Bruce doesn’t think his father is a bad man, much like the other 1%-ers in the movie, but it would be interesting to see Bruce kind of see the other side of things when he gets more down in the streets as Batman as an adult.

You could also show adult Batman reminiscing about his father and show some more warm/tender moments with him, this would further illustrate that things aren’t black and white, where Thomas was clearly shown to be a “bad guy” in Joker, but depending upon your perspective he could be seen as a loving father.

I personally find that super interesting and I hope this goes on because this movie opens so many cool and unique ways you could take the mythos. I feel it would be a waste to let it be a one and done. Money talks, and if the second weekend holds well I’m sure people at WB will be on the phone trying to think of ways to continue with this.

I wonder what Matt reeves thinks ?

I wish We Got This Covered articles were banned from this website.
I wonder if www.**************.com is still banned here...

-edit- It seems it isn't anymore.

How did this go to 68% on RT?!

Oh an lost Certified Fresh Status due to ten negatives being added at once.

The treatment of this film is so unfair.

Do you guys even really care what the RT score is?

The praise this film is getting is insane but also the hate. There are like 130 5/5 and 4.5/5 reviews.

At the end of the day who gives a sh**? Even if the movie had only 1 star reviews and 0% on RT, you should always stick with how you feel about the film. As someone who tries to watch everything, I don't spend most of my day refreshing the RT score like some of you here.

Lol As of right now, I don’t even care. I did at first but the fans have spoken with their rating (90%) and money. It’s a successful film and it eats them up, I love it. A big F U. We all know that there is extreme bias towards this movie. A lot of them are mad that it’s making money and people like it.

I try to watch everything also....but I have to limit the number of films I see at the theater. JOKER will be a on cable watch for me.

Do yourself a favour and see it at the cinema!

If anything, you should see it so you can put yourself in the conversation. This is a movie that everyone is talking about. It’s an event!

Nope.

I'm at an age where my life neither improves or degrades depending on if I am part of an event. I will see something when I decide to see it. I will either like it or not depending on my watching it, not on what the discussion deems I should do.
