Joker "The Joker" in development with Todd Phillips and Martin Scorsese attached? - Part 2

I understand your point, and i already answered you

Insane. A billion is coming

I hate to even make the comparisons since it's become such a cliche, but they really should take a cue from the MCU, not in regards to their business model, but hiring decent directors and writers to take on characters but without a massive amount of studio interference. They don't have to intersect, just be standalone stories until they can find somebody to grandfather all that **** together years later.

Do you really think so? Idk how to gauge this stuff

If it hits 1B I’m so excited to see the repercussions this will have on the comic book movie industry

I could be wrong of course, and i didnt analysed it yet. But from where i stand we are one week after the release date, and it has done 500 millions. (and the drop is minimal and the word of mouth is out of this world ) So the chance are there.

Not only Blade, but also....Deadpool. They kinda own that, now. Along with Wolverine. :hehe:

So let's hope there's another Logan/Deadpool style movie up their sleeve, cause I'm not so sure if there is.

If they managed to get Jackman back with Reynolds, rated R... thatd be a dream. Maybe a pipe dream lol

There is a very real possibility.

We can compare it to Venom if we ignore some differences in international release dates. At this point in time Venom stood at around 380-400 million with its worldwide gross being 856 million at the end of its run. Joker's second weekend drop is 43% compared to Venom's 56%.

For those who care(I don’t) comic writer Dan Slott didn’t like the movie. I thought the flick was just fine, but his thoughts were interesting to read.

The guy wrote One More Day and simultaneously tainted Spider-Man's comic book run for a long while. I can't take anything he says seriously.

i did'nt care for his take because he seems like he cant separate his dislike for the take of joker they went with(aka not like the comics) and correlating it to bad film making

he obviously has a bias coming from the comic book world

That's fine if he didn't like it but I'm yawning at the King of Comedy comparisons. I've watched that movie a number of times and there are a few similarities like him pretending to be on the show as well as really appearing on it, but that's it.

The movie overall was it's own thing with some inspiration from KoC and a touch of Taxi Driver.

I really enjoyed this movie. I would like to see them do similar with Luthor, Deathstroke and Ra's al Ghul. Riddler, Penguin and Scarecrow could be interesting too.

It seems more and more possible. The International Hold was ridiculous as TMP said. I wouldnt bet on it...but man it is going to make a run.

WB is gonna make no worse than $600 million profit on this film. That isnt BO that is PROFIT!

Lol.

You do realize that directors don't have much freedom within the MCU?

God would I love to see a standalone R-rated Deathstroke movie, especially with Gareth Evans at the helm. I know they say it isn't happening anytime soon, but just imaging it is enough to get me hyped.

I would love it too. They sure would not have a lot to lose with a budget à la Joker ( especially because Deathstroke had a major push since a few years)

I haven't seen his movies, so perhaps I am being ignorant, but isn't a common criticism of his movies that while the action is good, the characters have little depth? If that is true, then that isn't what I want for the character. The Christopher Priest or Marv Wolfman Deathstroke is what I would like to see.

thinking of a lex luthor film directed by adam mckay

:ali:

Yes, when you put it that way, you may want to go with somebody like Joe Carnahan
