I'm really excited about the prospects of the new DC label. There are endless possibilities. WB can pick and choose amazing Elseworld stories for cinematic adaptation. I wouldn't even mind if this project fails to move off the ground. I'm here for the new production banner. That's the interesting stuff. Plus I would love to see a Joker that is not the abomination from Skwad.

Todd Phillips is garbage. If Scorsese directed this, it would be amazing, regardless of how unnessary it is for the character. The man can do no wrong. However, I bet he leaves the project before filming even begins. I'll just sit here and hope Phillips gets canned and Marty decides to direct himself.

Most of all I hope they don't try and portray him as a sympathetic figure.

Joel Kinnaman said that he thinks they're shooting SS2 in 2018 but we'll see.

Not getting close to happening does not mean they won't happen. Some projects may get scrapped but will be replaced by others. The DCEU is a long term thing you know and it seems like its here to stay.

Theres a certain amount of leeway to be had when it's an Elseworlds, as by definition it's trying to be different from the traditional version of the stories.

I remember 10-15 years ago when WB would not let Justice League Unlimited use Batman villians because they were already in use elsewhere (The Batman) and they didn't want to dilute things too much.

Even The Batman couldn't use Robin because he was already in Teen Titans.

The real news will be when they let Leto go from the role completely. No one should have to suffer through all that again.
