Days of Future Past The Josh Helman Thread - THE YOUNGEST WILLIAM STRYKER YET!

NO wait.

We should assume Stryker was 47 in 1987/1990 (I use to place Origins in 1990), because he will be active 15 years later, aprox. in 2005 (62 years old). This means in 1975 he was about 34 years old.

Didn´t XMO:W took place in 1979? The year of the 3-mile island incident?

I think Helman was a VERY young choice for Stryker. Not the best way to go IMO.

I respect Singer a lot, but it does seems he wanted to fit Helman somehow into the movie.

Due to official timeline of films

Stryker recruited Wolverine and sabretooth In 1975

Wolverine left team X In 1979

Rest of origins took place In 1987

Plus a strong case can be made Bryan Singer was more intrested In finding actor who could be seen as young version of Stryker seen In X2 than trying to fit the origins version.

Is the official timeline on 25moments? Or is it on another page?

It is good they moved Origins until 1987... altho it could have been cooler to place it along the 3 mile incident (similar to what they did with the cuban missile crisis).

It was one given to empire. If you look around you could find the page. I downloaded
the timeline page when it was posted On IMDB.

I just figured the reason Danny Huston looks so much older than Josh Helman is that he went through war. :)

Yeah he matches up fine with X2 Stryker. It was Origins Stryker who was the real aberration. Helman is 28, and if his character is meant to be about the same age, that would place his birth at about 1945. Brian Cox (Stryker in X2) was born in 1946.

I know we´ve only seen brief moments of Stryker, but is it me or he looks like sort of dumb or naive (specially on the Mystique clip where he is not able to pull a shot with such a clear view)? I know he is young but i don´t know... maybe it´s the Stiffler´s look that makes him look sort of goofy?

Call me mean, I´m sorry...

PS. I know that according some rumors, Stryker does ends up shooting Mystique, but man, he took years to do it...

I really enjoyed him as a Young Styker.

He owned that last scene of the movie, that grin is just evil (added with Mystique's eyes who's pretending to be Stryker)

Obviously the very last scene of the film is a nod to weapon X and maybe a different retelling with Stryker and Wolverine, but it turns out it is Mystique pretending to be Stryker.

Why would she turn into Stryker and how did she know that Logan was going to be experimented on with Weapon X?

Mystique is trying to help mutants, like what she did on Vietnam. She obviously read some notes/plans from Trask's office so who knows if she read an info about Weapon X and who knows if her next move is to free all the mutants from the Weapon X facility.

Oh my god

lol. He's not movie star yet. But he is working, so it could happen in the future, depending on the proyects he gets and possible lead roles in the future, of course.
