The Kirsten Dunst/Mary Jane Watson Thread

She didn't look like that all the time and her character was just oh so wrong.

I didn't like the way MJ acted towards Peter throughout the whole movie. She was so different compared to Spider-Man 1 and 2. Did anyone else get annoyed with her when all Peter tried to do was help her (especially in the beginning with that bad review scene)?

Yes i noticed that. She was a different MJ in this one.

The fact is that she became so ordinary in that movie, no more the dream girl of Peter Parker, just a normal girl now that he got her...aww, sad desilusion, heheheh...

I always see people blame the way MJ was portrayed in the movie(s) on Kirsten, whereas it was written for her to act like that. People also said she looked horrible in SM2, but I thought that in most of the scenes (the brown dress excluded) she looked pretty.

I really liked MJ in SM-1 and SM-2. But in the third one, she seemed off. She wasn't herself, IMO. Maybe it was because she's with Peter and not the dream girl.

You know, forgive me if I'm being offensively disloyal to the comics when I say this, but I almost think it's better for the story if MJ is more average-looking. I mean, Peter is certainly average...and plus, you know, she could have a personality?

But, I'm a woman, so...you get it.

No, I never managed to really buy Peter being married to a supermodel either. Not that I want the marriage to end now that they've been going with it for 20 years, but still, maybe they could have just kept MJ doing local modeling or something instead of being famous.

Something minor that I noticed in the three films, is how MJ seems to lose her shoes in Spider-Man and Spider-Man 3, Vicki Vale-style. Yet in Spidey 2, despite the force of Doc Ock's machine, she managed to hold onto them. Although that wasn't the case in the comic adaptation.

Oh well. The minor inconsistencies are fun.

She apparently also lost her mouth.:)

She doesn't lose her shoes in SM3, does she?

That's for all the people with a foot fetish. Chicks in bare feet seem to be more vulnerable. Go figure.

lol, I guess she does lose her shoes a lot.

I guess it makes it harder to get away from the villain than if they had a nice pair of Air Jordans or something.

But you're a girl. You're not looking at her from a guy's perspective. MJ is supposed to be an attractive, hot mama sita but instead we got a saggy, flat chested, tiger toothed, moonface of a cow in crappy attire.

I thought Kirsten looked great in all three films.
