The Last of Us The Last Of Us 2

Let me just speed this up to the next few arguments - it's unnecessary, they just can't write gay things well and she has better chemistry with that guy she looked at one time.
No, I just find dialogues like "on scale from 1 to 10 how was my p***y yesterday" cringe as hell.

By hiding him they made it look like it was a bigger deal than it really was.
He is a big deal. He is not the main deal. That's Ellie. This is her story. How Joel ties into it, directly has to do with her. This is clearly all still early in the game and might even be his first moments in the game. And considering how the first game ended, I am sure their relationship is a rather large deal in the grand scheme of things. Oh, and this isn't even close to the last trailer before the game is released.

Tell me more, cowboy, about my stance on the gay. It's cringe because it's cringe, not because it's gay. There's good gay stuff in movies, but not in games yet. It's like awful Netflix romances.

You can ride horses in many games. The point is it's yet another game with horse riding and it doesn't look noticeably better than recent RDR2. Which adds to dullness of the trailer. Even in comparison to the first game, hell yeah, another horse ride through snow and overgrown city. Exciting.
Dude, I lived through the Beauty and the Beast thread, and the weird talk about the Russian ratings board stance on a potential gay character. But we don't even have to go there. Let's just look at what you just wrote:

No, I just find dialogues like "on scale from 1 to 10 how was my p***y yesterday" cringe as hell.
That isn't the line at all. The line is:

"Scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate our kiss from last night?"

If one had actually seen the gameplay trailer from last year, it is pretty clearly a situation where Ellie likes her, but is hesitant, as she doesn't know she is bisexual. Not atypical when the assumption is people are straight. This is also Ellie. Who has spent a lifetime losing people (including her first love), and potentially feels responsible for the lack of a cure existing. Like maybe she thinks she is alive because Joel made the "wrong" decision. One she might suspect he has lied about. So attempting to draw her out of her protective shell might take some prodding.

That you decided to completely misrepresent the dialogue, turn it vulgar to justify your "stance", shows you ass on the situation. No one else need say another word.

The horse riding needs to be better then Red Dead's to justify it's existence? Since when? What you just said would be like complaining there is horse riding in Red Dead 3, because there was horse riding Red Dead 2.

I don't know if he's a big deal, but his reveal after 3 (!) trailers was not. If we don't count his murky silhouette from the teaser.

I wasn't in the thread of Beauty and the Beast (I didn't even watch the film) and you painting everyone with the same brush speaks more about you and "depth" of your understanding of the situation.
That isn't the line at all. The line is:

"Scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate our kiss from last night?"
It's still cringe. It's like straight from Anakin-Padme conversations.

It doesn't matter. There's good writing and bad writing. It's off-putting and embarrassing instead of seductive. I don't know who can save such line. Probably nobody.
That you decided to completely misrepresent the dialogue, turn it vulgar to justify your "stance", shows you ass on the situation. No one else need say another word.
I find writing like that vulgar and tasteless, so my version isn't different.
The horse riding needs to be better then Red Dead's to justify it's existence? Since when? What you just said would be like complaining there is horse riding in Red Dead 3, because there was horse riding Red Dead 2.
You're missing the point again... I'm saying that the trailer had no surprises and nothing to intrigue with.

I wasn't in the thread of Beauty and the Beast (I didn't even watch the film) and you painting everyone with the same brush speaks more about you and "depth" of your understanding of the situation.
No, I was most certainly talking about you. You do know people can go back to threads and read what you wrote right?

Where OutofBoose says he does not agree with the law, but then starts getting upset that Russia's crappy law is crappy and has state policy that is homophobic:

Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast - Part 2

I'm an idiot, but I have a decent memory.

It's still cringe. It's like straight from Anakin-Padme conversations.
Yeah, I don't agree. But not the issue of course. It's how you went about it. You know, with the nasty little jab.

It doesn't matter. There's good writing and bad writing. It's off-putting and embarrassing instead of seductive. I don't know who can save such line. Probably nobody.
It most certainly matters. You wrote something completely different, and did so in a way that was clearly meant to mock that the characters are gay. Or in this case, gay and bisexual respectively.

Context of course matters. By the way, she is not trying to be seductive. She is clearly trying to judge Ellie's interest, while being playful. Because these are teenage girls, who aren't pick up artist. They have emotions they themselves are trying to protect.

And from what I have seen, the material is going over very well. Who it isn't going over well with are those that freaked out that Ellie was gay in the first place.

I find writing like that vulgar and tasteless, so my version isn't different.
Yeah, you are avoiding what you wrote here. You decided how to deliver your message. One that does not compute with the material shown. At all.

You're missing the point again... I'm saying that the trailer had no surprises and nothing to intrigue with.
Nope. You specifically complained that a sequel to a game with horse riding has horse riding in it. As if it was somehow copying RDR2. A game that was also a sequel to a game with horse riding and gunplay.

I have bad memory (I thought that discussion was about a different movie for some reason), but I don't see anything anti-gay in my opinion there.

And related to my speculation in that thread, certain studio recently chickened and deleted some scenes from Rocketman in Russia so they can earn more money, lol. It's all about money.

Because it's a jab at poor writing. Not gay characters.

In what way that phrase is exclusively gay?

It's called flirting. Seductive in playful manner. Rather tasteless from writing standpoint, in my mind. Either way, you're repeatedly trying to tie their gayness to the reaction on that scene. Let me reassure you: the only reason I mentioned they're gay is to be extra precise. I'm indifferent to Ellie's gayness. I know some people hate that turn, but it's not me. Good story is a good story.
Yeah, you are avoiding what you wrote here. You decided how to deliver your message. One that does not compute with the material shown. At all.
And I'm not taking it back. I still think it sucks ass. Maybe it's onslaught of bad writing on TV that got me triggered, but whatever.

If that's how you understood it - it's your mistake. Not mine. Yes, it was a specific example: horse riding looked almost the same as I saw it in other recent games, that's why it didn't leave any impression. "Stale" certainly comes to mind. I frankly don't care if you got it. Persisting in your ignorance or admitting you're trying to pick a fight for no reason - your choice.

No, I just find dialogues like "on scale from 1 to 10 how was my p***y yesterday" cringe as hell.
Man, somehow this went straight from kissing to oral sex, two things equally commonly discussed and done in public settings.

I find writing like that vulgar and tasteless, so my version isn't different.
May I ask what is vulgar about the subject? Not whether the line is good or cringey, but why it's vulgar.

To me it's associated with stuff like judging looks, intercourse or whatever by finger scale. It's just crude ****. It's cold and off-putting. In the essence - discussing experience isn't anything bad. "I liked it yesterday, did you?", "You know, I couldn't forget, I kept thinking" or million other (better) variations to that dialogue that would make it sound perhaps more "involving" or intimate. Or maybe even funny just to break the ice.

Yeah, how does that change that you decided to claim I was painting everyone with the same brush? Because I knew who I was talking about.

And your reaction to Russia being called out by being by law homophobic is certainly a sight to behold.

Because it's a jab at poor writing. Not gay characters.
In what way? Because all you did was make up dialogue that relates in no way to the conversation that is being had.

In what way that phrase is exclusively gay?
In the context of a woman asking another woman if she enjoyed their kiss the night before? It is exclusively gay.

How is it tasteless? You are the one who brought up oral sex while complaining about it. Also "extra precise"? About what?

And you are living in the golden age of television, which the most consistent writing, with more options then there has ever been. What are you complaining about exactly?

If that's how you understood it - it's your mistake. Not mine. It's almost like your attempts at complaining about the game with Ellie as the lead were poorly constructed and now you have decided it is my fault.

Last of Us Part 2 gameplay all over Youttube now. Can't post link. Naughty Dog likes their naughty words. But yeah, looks great.

What is there to behold? That I disagree with the law? But there's are different angles there to consider. Social and political aspects. Just bluntly throwing accusations, simplifying situation at hand. Politics is the art of the possible, not magic wand. And frankly that discussion doesn't paint me as homophobic in any way, if that was your aim.

It doesn't relate directly, but it's the same kind of "scaling".

This phrase can be used in broader sense by any gender combination. So it's not exclusively gay. And your attempt to make it one just because in this particular case the characters are is lapse of logic. Because it applies not only to gay people. I wouldn't like it if it was uttered by two heterosexuals either.

About the scene I was talking about.

Game of Thrones, Mindhunter and other. But it's not the place.

I didn't complain about the game. I complained about the trailer. You keep putting your own assumptions in my text and blaming me for them. But it's on you.

Gameplay videos certainly restored my anticipation. Looks and feels great.

This is set only 4 - 5 years after LOU 1. But in Joel years that's about 20 years.:p

Also the, "how would you rate the kiss" scene takes place one day after the kiss scene in last years demo.

I didn't expect a super impressive trailer at this point. The meat of the experience will be in first-hand gameplay.

Damn, the dogs can track you and looks like there's a quicktime button action when they attack you. Though I think I'd prefer to face those than the damn clickers.

Joel would be pushing 60 at this point. He was in his 50's in the first game, though his exact age is never explicitly stated.

Only five years after part one? Someone remind me how old Ellie was supposed to be in part one. Because she looks like she's 19 in this at least.
