The Last of Us The Last Of Us 2

Im surprised we have heard nothing of the Factions mode. Like will that be released as a free update to the game similar to GoT's Legends mode? Will it be a paid upgrade? Will it launch alongside a PS5 remastered version? So many unanswered questions

I'm still waiting for it to go on sale. But I'm not in a hurry to play it. Those clickers are stressful for me.
How low does this need to be for you bc its been out for 6 months and has been on sale plenty of times and definitely at $29.99 on several occasions

Does anyone know at what point you can 'pick up' a silenced semi-automatic (it looks like from vids on YT), I fear I have gone past the point of 'collection' and not picked it up given the point of the game I am currently at. I had a note mentioning a garage and a code but couldn't find a way in. Plus how do you craft your baseball bats and pick axe's etc. to 'weaponise' them ? Thanks for any information / advice.

The silenced semi-automatic is very very late in the game.
The bats and so on should just be available in the crafting menu. You use mostly the same materials you use for all other crafting. Scissors, tape, and so on. You'll obviously need a melee weapon to do it.

Ghost of Tsushima came back to its original price after the holidays, it only dropped to 40 and I'm buying that before this. And since they were released so close to each other, I'm assuming it is still over 50 dollars. The prices are based from my retail store so the price is probably different online. I don't buy games online. Probably when its like 24 to 28 dollars. I'd buy it. I bought Fallen Order and A Plague Tale for 26 dollars last month iirc.

If you live in the United States with access the major retailers, its been $29.99 multiple times. Thats only a $2 difference from 28. Why do you need to buy Ghosts first?

I'm playing Ghost first because its an open world. Like I could just put it on and just roam around. I can't do that with Last of Us. The first game I only completed it once and I didn't bother finishing the dlc (only watched it on yt) because horror games stresses me out. So I'm not really in a hurry to buy this. Maybe at the end of the year or in 2022 it would way be cheaper, then Id buy it or during State of Play sale. God of War 2018 here is already under 20 dollar in comparison.

That gun is late on (as mentioned) but also can't be missed so worry not. You may have seen it used earlier on in videos because it can be used from the start in New Game+

Thanks everyone for the info concerning my questions, all making sense now, much appreciated.

No idea percentage wise how far I am through the game, but just about to cross a MF of a bridge and I am prettified of heights, this could go badly wrong.

EDIT - Discussion point, as many will know on here, I'm a 'on the whole', well balanced, empathetic, caring guy. With this in mind, as I play through this and hearing, reading more about the game and it's narrative stand-point, and that whilst playing as Abby you'll 'warm to her' and see things from her side of things abut her gang of friends and maybe think more about what Ellie doing etc. etc. I guess I'm about half way through game, roughly, and I'm getting zero empathy for the actions on the 'break-away' side of the group, Mel, Owen, Manny nor Abby, they are are all ********s and frankly, I just wanna chop my way through them, because I suppose I have more empathy and feeling for Joel, given we spent the entire first game with him. Kinda concerns me about what it says about me, lol.

I warmed to Abby over her campaign. A mixture of fun set-pieces and character moments got me, and you have a few to go by the sounds of it. You may come around some more, or not. I found her fear of heights very relatable during that bridge sequence. She's also a bloody tank, I beat a lot of enemies to death with my bare hands playing Abby ha.

Wasn't hugely fond of Abby's team either. I think they were sufficiently layered and varied, and it had some effect on me getting to know them after having killed them. I think the first instinct would be to show that they were all great people really, for maximum impact, but I'm glad they were presented as real people with flaws. They felt like they had lives outside of the story, lives that we ended of course. It's Lev and Yara that need to be sympathetic and the catalyst for Abby's growth. I quite liked them.

I didn't have much issues with Abby once I got to know her, but I still felt that part of the game put the story on halt. The different point of view just had too little progression for me at that time.

My main problem with the game is how the ending created pretty clear ludonarrative dissonance for me.

I couldn't quite buy Ellie's refusal to kill Abby when Ellie is a serial killer of enormous proportions. Even just before the end I had killed dozens of people, up close with a knife in their throats, all to get to Abby. Still the fight with Abby is supposed to have changed her more than the woman she loves and the baby they had together.

As I say, it may 'just be me', but I'm feeling zero 'plight' or empathy for Abby and her 'story' and the characters on her side of it. In fact, I'm missing 'being' Ellie and having the chance to just work my way through them. Owen is a cheating ********, Mel is just plain a pain in the arse, Manny is a two-timing f*ck anything immoral dick, and Abby, I have no feeling for her, appreciate, the whole point is you are supposed to after her Dad dying so that 'evens' things out with Ellie in terms of loss, but I just don't feel it, as I say, I'm putting it down to, having played an entire game and spent a lot of time with Joel and Ellie in Game 1, my feelings are on their side and I just want Abby's side of the game done and get back to killing my way through this band of *******s.

Progressing nicely, just come off the island as Abby. Not sure what % of game I'm through. Rat King was a nightmare to get past.

Rat King is such a fun sequence. Goes completely Resident Evil for a little while. It's cool enough to compensate for not a lot of new infected game play, but only just. I could have done with another type or two. Maybe it started affecting animals or something.

Rat King was fun but at times annoying too.

Completed it last night. Quite the game. I would say the 'smaller' moments for me, carried the toughest emotional edge rather than the underpinning story and consequences for both lead characters. Still stand by my post #112, even at the end.

Looks like Ali isn't happening actually.

I still need the showrunners of this show to come out and state clearly that the show will be ignoring the second game before I'll feel secure enough to invest my time in it.

Now I'm done eye-rolling, I'd say hopes that the show will deviate from part 2 are likely to be fulfilled. We'll have to see what the first season does, but if the show is successful its most natural course is to follow on with the Joel and Ellie they have, so it may never even get to the time period of the sequel. Taken on its own terms as a TV series, it would make sense to remain centered on those two as your leads and expand on their relationship. That said, if you're looking for the show-runner to outright denounce half of the series in front of the games' lead and colleague for the series, you're probably out of luck.
