Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

Yep episode 5 was incredible. I laughed with glee and was terrified at the same time when the bloater
killed Pierce in the way it kills Joel/Ellie/Abby in the games.
. And that ending was just as gut wrenching as in the game, if not more.

I initially didn't like
Sam revealing his bite to Ellie. But it's going to give Ellie even more urgency to get to the Firefly's and provide that cure, which will in turn make the ending even more shocking.

Patiently waiting for a new HBO inspired remake for PS6...
In theory, I suppose it isn't out of the question for them to release a patch of show skins for the PS5 version for the characters where Joel would look like Pedro Pascal, Ellie like Bella Ramsey, etc. You can already unlock Joel and Ellie skins from Part II in the game so it could be done if not for the tricky navigation of actor likeness rights.

By the way Bella Ramsey is the real deal acting wise. I have gone from being worried about her portraying an older more wiser and more violent Ellie from the 2nd game to looking forward to her tackling it.

This girl is going places.

She is fantastic and deserves every award she will eventually win. :D

I love how the designs of the infected are based on part 2/remake. Not the weird bioluminescent designs from the OG. The bloater was pretty much plopped from part 2.
They seriously delivered on the bloater. That thing looks like it could tank a …tank. I would just give if I saw one of those. :D

Oh man, I can’t wait to see the chuds’ reaction to Maria. Suddenly a lot of people will care deeply about the ethnicity of a small, side character.
Have they made a lot of noise about Joel and Tommy being of Hispanic or at least half Hispanic origin in the show?

I remember they did when he was first announced.

So good. They perfectly translated that part of the game.

Pedro and Bella nailed the big moment between Joel and Ellie where she brings up Sarah. Amazing work there, also from Pedro Pascal in Joel's monologue to Tommy. Just give every Emmy to this show.

The Ellie sass in this episode was on point too. I liked her scenes with Rutina Wesley.

I definitely liked that they went in Jackson here unlike in the game where they only stick to the dam and the outskirts. They completely nailed the look of it from Part II. And I have a hunch that girl Ellie called out for staring at her is supposed to be Dina.

Monkeys were something else along the lines of the pun book that I never expected to see in the show but I'm glad they included them just as a nod to the game that they didn't have to do but did anyway.

Joel getting stabbed is probably more realistic than what happens to him in the game. I think how it went down in the game would have been more intense but I get why they did it.

Of course like Walking Dead--

as soon as Joel started talking about what he wanted to do later in life I knew he wasn't going to last. As soon as you get deep into a character they're toast.:(
