Horror 'The Last of Us' HBO Series

One small touch I loved early in the episode was the guitar talk. Unless Bella can already play, I hope she’s taking lessons for added authenticity later. :cwink:
I have the sound track with Ashley and Troy singing together. The feels :snotty::heartbroken:It might take three seasons to do the 2nd game right. It is gonna need a game of thrones budget.

Nice, I need to get in on that!

After the reception to season 1, they can afford to give the budget a good boost. Season 2 is going to start with big numbers for sure.

Season 2 flashbacks, character development and the infected coming closer to the town.
Season 3 trip to Seattle, WLF vs Sarofites, and first confrontation.
Season 4 Relationship and JJ’s birth, PTSD, The Slavers, Look for Fireflies, final battle. Hopefully by then game 3 will have been out.

WB and Zaslav may be making some bad decisions but I'm glad they're still supporting physical media. I'll be picking up the 4K for sure.

Have said from the start the 2nd game could and should be 3 seasons. More than enough material for it.

The second game being three seasons sounds absolutely insane to me. Even two is pushing it. Just make it one season with 14/16 episodes.

The inciting incident (people who have played the game know what I mean) needs to happen in the first episode. If it doesn't, there's no story.

It would have a different impact but it's going to be a huge event even if it happens later.

I actually think they should cut the seasons to 8 episodes but make them longer. I see three climatic events as well. Three seasons would totally work to adapt. Nora and Mel loved Dr. Anderson. Show that relationship as well.

Maybe we should have a little bit of trust in Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann should they not choose to do an exact copy of the second game's structure? If they have
Joel's death happen later on in the show as opposed to in the game, then they're allowed to, and be able to make it work. There are plenty of aspects from the second game, especially flashbacks, that they could restructure a bit and focus on before that big moment. Heck, even in the latest podcast, they discuss going more in-depth with the Cordyceps hivemind in season 2 which could provide for some cool original content as well.

Saying the story is dead on arrival if they don't 100% make it the exact same as Part II is a mindboggling hyperbolic notion. One of the reasons the show has worked is while it has remained very faithful, it's had deviations that haven't detracted from the story being told. I don't see why there should be an exception come the next few seasons when adapting Part II.

The creators have earned most people’s faith and deserve a chance with future seasons regardless of how they think is the best way to tackle it. This isn’t straightforward material to bring to screen and they deserve a lot of credit for the very successful way they’ve approached it all so far.

Lol every time Zaslav and WBD does something interesting and/or in favor of the craft, every retort is "they suck and I want them dead, but..."

Its always good

Zaslav hates “scripted” shows so he has absolutely nothing to do with the success here - it goes against his philosophy of ultra low budget/cost-cutting/reality TV.

Sure, they made a few changes, but they never fundamentally changed the structure of the story from the first game. Having this incident happen at the end of season 2, would be like Joel not meeting Ellie until the end of season 1. Sure, you CAN do it, but it means having to create an entirely new storyline for a season.

All you have to do is show the flashbacks in real-time. Abby and her crews time before the massacre of the fireflies by Joel. Character development of Abby, Ellie’s growth from punk kid to insecure young woman :cheeky: Joel settling in to a new life with Elle as his daughter, I personally think instead of focusing on Joel and Elle like season one, they will focus on Abby and Elle. I think they want fans divided on who to cheer for. I expect a big time actress for the role of Abby.

That's not a story, though. Those are just things happening.

You really are concerned. I am guessing you did not really like the HBO adaption? They have to milk game two because game three may not come out until PlayStation 6. Bella might be 30 by the time they adapt game 3.:concern:

I thought it was just fine. Bits I liked, and bits I didn't. I imagine I'll have a tougher time with the next seasons, as Part 2 is my favourite game of all time, and a big part of that is how they chose to structure it. But we'll see what they decide to do!

We are in agreement about Last of Us part 2 being one of the best games of all time. After the shock of what happened. The story just got better and better. I still can’t believe gamers could produce such a great apocalyptic story. Hope they create other games that get away from the Elle story line. Maybe even go to different countries. A story about what happened in London, England would be awesome.
