Yeah, thats probably not going to happen either. I wouldn't be surprised this would be the last Hollywood attempt at a Street Fighter film.

I personally think Street Fighter films will probably go the way of Mortal Kombat films after this movie is made. I mean, there's only so many times they can keep trying and failing.

I'm sure you can try more than two times. I mean, Punisher's already been tried THREE times!

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure we're not going to see a fourth film seeing how the last one did. Even the 2003 Punisher was able to make it's budget back via DVD sales, but Punisher War Zone was just an all out failure. Punisher is done on the big screen I think. Unless this film makes back it's budget (which I doubt it will), then this could be the end of Street Fighter films.

Sure it can surprise us, but like I said I have never heard anyone talking about this film in real life. I don't think most know about this film or care. Even people that might know about it probably don't realize it's coming out soon with the lack of publicity.

That's possible.

Its not the properties fault the film makers screwed up. Both franchises had incredible potential, MK had a great first film to build from. Unfortunately it was the execution which failed. Replace these people with others who actually can execute them properly after a few years of distance after the failures and they can succeed.

All that means is that the film makers failed. The Punisher is actually one of Marvel's easiest adaptions but Hollywood keeps screwing it up. :csad:

Yeah, but you cant use the "it wasnt the characters fault" excuse.

The character is now damaged, after three films no one wanted to see. making a fourth makes very little financial sense.

And I predict the same for Street Fighter.

However, Street Fighter fan(s?) by years end it will have been forgotten!

Dragonball will tank, and GI Joe wont be putting up Transformers numbers, and come to think of it, neither will Transformers (though I expect the last two to be "hits"). We have a few more genre related bombs coming, so Street Fighter wont seem like such a turd by years end.

Only it wasn't the character which damaged itself, it was the film makers. People didn't want to see the films since they were far from high quality to begin with. They were hardly TDK's equals.

Give it a few years, hire people who can actually do the concept justice and it might be.

Agreed.

There was no balance. All 3 movies were right in their interpretation of The Punisher character and his universe but each one exaggerated one aspect and forgot the others. Two exaggerated the mindless violence (one even running into camp territory) and one tried to be more complicated than it should have been and in the end (like Hulk) came off as dull and almost tedious. I liked both The Punisher and Hulk but I can see the faults.

If there was a balance to the story and violence then I really think that the movie would be a hit.

I agree that it IS possible to make a successful Punisher film...though Im not sure that would be the BEST Punisher film. I've said many times on here that my dream Punisher film would be a cheaply made bullet ridden indie vengeance film starring Henry Rollins, whereas a "successful" Punisher film would be a hi tech CGI filled Keanu Reeves vehicle.

Interview with Kirsten and Chris. It's funny because they don't really talk about the film.

See The Punisher is a character that I think works best in a series. A character like this takes time to get to know and really love and his best stories tend to focus on the villains involved. I don't know why a TV series was never done ages ago. The character doesn't exactly require a large budget and with a TV series you can run the gamete on interpretations of the character from violence heavy episodes to more somber character driven ones.

Some characters just work better in a series. I mean I don't want a Dexter movie or a Burn Notice movie. The shows work fine.

EDIT: Done hijacking thread.

Not sure if the guy always interviews like this or if he just wanted to avoid talking about the movie as much as possible.

Am I the only one willing to give this flick a chance to stand on whatever merits it has/doesn't have?

Actually... am I the only one who's going to even see this movie?

I'll probably grab some friends and watch it for laughs. It's gonna take some convincing though. Punisher: War Zone we all walked into pretty much expecting to laugh our asses off and it did not dissappoint.

Bishop, listen to Chris Klein in that ****ing interview. You couldn't pay me to see this ****ing movie.

I might catch it on DVD. I love a train wreck as much as anyone but it's been kind of hard to get me into the theaters lately and with Watchmen coming out right after I'd rather just save my money for a more fulfilling experience.

I'm am totally going! Wild krakens couldn't keep me from seeing this atrocity on the big screen!

I don't know about the action in Watchmen. Looking at the clips it's like "slo-mo, man! Enjoy it while you can"!

In Legend of Chun Li there's plenty of action and most of them were fast paced.

Eh. I enjoyed Zack Snyder's style of action in 300 and I know Watchmen will be more loyal to the source material then Street Fighter will be.
