1994 - Street Fighter: The Movie
2009 - Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li

So I guess we'll see another one in 2018.

Hilarious that you guys are talking about this movie setting up sequels.

Yeah, it's pretty much fanboy wishful thinking. I'm pretty sure this film is going to be largely ignored upon release and forgotten by the time Watchmen comes out.

That and the fact that it will probably be a terrible film. There is a reason why they haven't screened this for critics.

I didnt even know what a "'Chun Li" was, but it sounded delicious!
Turns out, it is Kristin Kreuk, and I was right!

I'll be seeing this, it can't be worse than the first Street Fighter:huh: Even though it has a "we're trying so hard to make it really memorable even though it's based on a fighting game." It has It's so bad it's good potential. Also, will Bison use his Pyscho power in the fight scenes? And will they have Balrog actually put on the boxing gloves and take on Chun-Li. And they need to incorporate his losing line in Street Fighter 4

"MY FIGHT MONEEEEY!!":woot:

If the chance for a new Street Fighter Movie should ever arise, it so needs to be a Hong Kong production. And either Sammo Hung, Donnie Yen or Jackie Chan have to be involved in it.

This is what good martial arts looks like.

The first Street Fighter was so bad it was good. Come on, Van Damme as Guile and Raul Julia as Bison? Its just doesn't get any better then that.

This film will probably be better then the first Street Fighter, but at it's best it'll be a mediocre hollywood martial arts flick. It doesn't even have the cheese value to save it I bet. I'm guessing this film will definitely be better overall in comparison to the first film but because it will lack the same amount of cheese it will not be as enjoyable to watch.

The first movie wasn't necessarily a movie with bad acting. It was a total cheese fest, and the actors acted accordingly.

This tries to be a serious revenge flick, but the acting from what I've seen so far is just bad. Not cheesy, humorous bad. Just plain bad.

Although I agree that this movie looks awefull, I have to ask. Why is there so much activity in a thread about a movie you all think is so damn horrid?. Everytime I visit the general movies part of this forum this Chun Li movie seems to always be at the top of the pile, being discussed ahead of what will be such great movies as Terminator Salvation etc etc. I say if you hate it so much then let it go & let's all skip over to another thread & let this one die.

cammy where are you when we need you?

RE: The clips over at RottenTomatoes...

Action looks great, I will confess. Kreuk is doing better acting here than she ever did on her first 7 seasons of Smallville, though I did notice she was a lot better this year when she returned as a guest star; maybe the producers of this movie made her get lessons.

Can't believe that guy is supposed to be Charlie. Chris Klein has been blonde in plenty of movies, and they made him go dark brown when he's CHARLIE?!

The scene with Charlie and Moon Bloodgood has some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard in a film, ever.

To the movie's credit: It takes place in Bangkok and has Bison in charge of a major criminal organization. Chun-Li is out to hunt down Bison and find her father, working with Charlie and training with Gen at a young age. Balrog and Vega are some of the higher-ups in Bison's organization. That's all true to the games at least. I just wish they'd bothered to make Bison or Charlie look at least a little like their original forms, physically.

I get the feeling this movie will be great kung-fu scenes mixed with awful, awful, painful dialogue.

I just don't get why Latino Review were always gushing over Justin Marks like he was God's gift to screenwriting. I believe this is the first Marks script that has been produced.

I don't get how LatinoReview has the following it has period.....I think in internet land its about longevity, the longer you last, people just assume you're worth something....same goes for AICN

Just by looking at the trailer, you can tell this isn't the same script they reviewed. It's obviously been rewritten. For starters, they mentioned on LatinoReview how there were no supernatural elements or supernatural powers in the script... which is clearly not the case in the final film.

Bishop2, the thing is that El Mayimbe is a liar. So I don't really trust him. Unless you've read the same script that Mayimbe reviewed.

Also I mean, not having that anyway wouldn't really get me behind the movie either. But the whole basic idea of this movie and that they spent money on this so lame.

2 years ago I knew this was going to flop.

^^^ I heard that was very funny, our theatre never got it though.

the chicks are hot in "Fired Up"

But it's funny that they hired guys in their 30s to play the main characters

Like Speed Racer, the studio assumed demand when there really was none.

Add in that the film looks like its about Power Rangers level of special effects and you have a blockbuster for sure!

I liked 'Speed Racer' but I understand why it didn't do well or why some don't like it

dont even compare speed racer to the likes of chun li...

speed racer was speed racer...
