Just saw it. The ticket guy was like; "Are you sure you want tickets to that?" :funny: My friend said we really wanted to know the legend of Chun Li and he said; "It's not much of a legend."

The cleaner guy walked out of the theater and suggested we wait until no one sees us, then run in. :lmao:

Now, the movie was not as bad as I imagined. Was it good? No. It had way too many ups and downs. Chris Klein was just horrid. He did an Ace Ventura impersonation until the last 15 minutes when he went back to normal. Vega was ridiculous and treated like a little *****. In a way the movie was fun, but it just had far too many negatives.

Well maybe they are starting to write up Rothman's release forms:o

Please, please, please, pleeeeease.
Then we can finally have good X-Men movies again & good Daredevil/FF movies for the first time.

*raises hand* My review is on the previous page. I thought it was a fun movie :O

Seems like you are in the slim minority because from the box office return, it appears that even non-SF audience didn't like this movie.

This movie looks all kinds of bad but part of me wants to see it out of morbid curiousity. But that part probably won't spend the 8 bucks :csad:

You think 8 bucks is bad? 18-20 bucks is the standard here in Japan :(

I'm still considering sneaking over to a matinee showing next week. I know the movie isn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but it's the only way I can satisfy my unquenchable curiosity over it. From everything I've read, it doesn't sound bad. It sounds very average, but not bad. Either I'm going to go "eh, it was OK" or "meh, it was lame." "Just slightly above average" might make it worth watching for $5 since I'm a SF fan.

I enjoyed the first half much more than the second half. With the first half I figured "Hey, this movie isn't so bad!"

Once the movie was through however, it was definitely a "meh" for the second half. The pacing became worse among other things.

You don't have to like a movie to give it your money. More like people weren't interested.

I'd see it but...well...Watchmen. Come on.

I'd blame the movie's bad opening numbers on poor marketing more than anything else. It's the marketing department's job to polish turds into diamonds (for 30 seconds to a minute, at least), and Fox didn't even bother with that. They put out one crappy trailer, one crappy poster, and a few TV spots on Adult Swim. Maybe if Fox had lost the lawsuit with Warner Bros. and weren't getting any money from Watchmen this week, they'd be a bit more concerned about actually advertising SF, but regardless of the movie's quality it's like Fox didn't give a crap about what kind of numbers it did opening weekend. Maybe they figured that Street Fighter 4's popularity would be enough to get people to watch the movie, which might have been true if they'd thrown in free tickets with the game.

The movie may only be average in quality, but even so, a $1,000,000 opening is piss poor considering it's releasing hot on the heels of Street Fighter IV. Maybe Fox figures they'll make most of this movie's money in places like Japan where they actually bothered to promote it, but I doubt we'll see this movie in theaters for long. I mean come on... It opened in 6th place, in the same week that the Jonas Brothers concert opened in #1. Even a mediocre movie should be able to do better than that.

Lucky you, ticket costs 12 here :(

Boy Kristen Kruek's film career is off to a great start isn't it

Saw it there are so many plot holes in the first 30 minutes you can not follow the movie. It was like a bad tv pilot. There was no explanation at all for the use of ki it was just there. The fighting was atrocious so blatantly wire work and CGI. Most of it was unnecessary just to try to make her look cool. Since when do Asian kids grow into White Adults and why do White people with Irish/Surfer accents run things in Bangkok. All of the dialogue was terrible even though it was very little. The whole film was rushed it is Bison whole origin makes no sense at all he doesnt do anything supernatural to warrant that back story. Vega Balrog basically red shirts.

The only thing that made sense was the end when Chun-li denies the invitation for the Street Fighter tournament because Rye-You even though its pronounce Ree-yuu was participating because she knew there was no future to this franchise. The funniest part was when Chun-Li did one of her game moves there was no stunt double and she never even kicked the bad guys they were just in the position.

Sad but true. :csad: Kind of an odd way to end the movie, too.

I've noticed something interesting - everybody in this thread who's actually SEEN the movie - about four or five people ( :P ) - has enjoyed it on some level. Interesting... I wonder if I'll be pleasantly surprised when I check it out Tuesday. Not very optimistic though.
Yeah, most will agree that the movie isn't really recommendable, but it's not entirely bothersome or unwatchable either.

wait......Rose is in this movie???
Yeah, for all of maybe 2-3 minutes.

They attempted to create a unique plot detail regarding his Irish accent by saying that his parents were Irish immigrants. It seemed like way too much of a stretch, though.
Bison's video game origins seemed just as weird and obscure, IMO. Not a gigantic leap.

I'm just glad that they didn't make him American at least.

Chun Li broke character and openingly admits that she's in a bad movie and doesn't want to move on? :p

To me, it's all about having a good agent and having good taste in movies.

Mila Kudis from That 70's Show and Family Guy was in Max Payne, but then again, she was in the great Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the upcoming Book of Eli with Denzel Washington. DENZEL WASHINGTON. So she's doing well for herself, so I'm sure Kristen needs that one role that will make her.

I hope that Street Fighter doesn't break her though..
