I like the progression too.

I too prefer teh humanoid incarnation. Personally, it's more surreal and scary for some odd reason. Maybe because it's more human like, and there's some humanity in there, hence being more tragic but gruelsome.

Very true, which begs the question, just how scary do they plan on making him? Because to be honest, Spidey's villains could be extremely terrifying, potentially.

Raimi did a good job with Doc Ock by at least giving him some level of fear, shaking the ground before he shows up and such, but beyond that, he played the villains more hammy than anything (which worked quite well for that particular trilogy)

Just don't make him look like a giant Jurassic Park raptor wearing a lab coat.

Would you guys want Lizard to be more feral and beserk, or retain some sort of humanity while in Lizard form? Me personally, I would like for him to be feral

Like Octoberist mentioned, I think a progression is a good idea. Have him start out physically and mentally still retaining some of his humanity, and by the end, be fully transformed into the more bestial version.

Ideally it would be a progression. Starting with a more mild manner and still relatively in control Conners of the Lizard with a couple of animalistic qualities but as the film advances I'd like to see a more feral, confused, and wild Lizard as you slowly but surely see Conners lose complete control of the Lizard.

Might also serve as a reminder for Peter. That he is the real person while Spidey is just the gift/burden he was given and not allow it to leak into his personal life. As hard as that will always be.

Becoming The Lizard would be in CGI.
As The Lizard a costume would work.
If The Lizard got his arm cut off by something, then CGI would be used.

I am now a believer in practical, after seeing this pic of the Tauntaun in SW:Empire Strikes Back. Even now, the creature looks real. Just add CGI for battle scenes which require quick movements or jumping on buildings, etc.

In the dark knight two face had both practical and cgi on his face at the same time. Couldn't that work with the lizard?

With the direction and taste that movie makers have these days I can almost shurely say that it's more likely be slightly huge, kind of a lizard looking really mutated man than a giant lizard, and with that they could go really far with just practical stuff.

That could, but why would it be necessary? The reason they touched up Two Face's scars with CGI is because they wanted to give him injuries that would be impossible to recreate with make up.

two pointed a gun at people and shot them, lizard would be expected to dominate a superhuman. I don't think practical effects could convincingly pull that off.

What makes you say that? People have been using practical effects for fght scenes in genre films and series for decades.

I think the Lizard needs to be as humanoid as possible, and like his classic comic incarnation. Anything else, and he wouldn't be a character anymore, but more like some giant alligator that Spidey has to wrestle. It would be like Hulk fighting those Hulk dogs. The stakes are higher when it is a person who is your enemy. When it's just some ferral beast, it becomes like just any other monster movie, with Spidey inserted into it.

I also want the Lizard to be mostly practical effects, with some CGI enhancement. I don't want the Lizard to be weightless and to leap all over the place like some cartoon character. I certainly hope that he doesn't look like Species 8472 or the Gorn in the latter-day Star Trek instalments where they were completely created by CG. I'm not saying to have a man in a suit like the original Gorn, but the CG version looked completely fake.

actually, two-face was all cgi - the behind the scenes features on the dvd show the only thing he has one his face on green dots for the cgi to be mapped to.

this is only somewhat related, i'm not sure who made this but if the lizard looks like this in the movie, i will be happy.

I don't think it's realistic for him to have so many pens in his pocket.

In my opinion, the transformation could progress during the entire movie. Start with an humanoid look to him, then at the end him to be a rampaging beast.

Dude.....you said it exactly the way I was envisioning it, couldn't have said it any better......

I voted for BOTH!

I agree 100%!
