I like the progression too.
I too prefer teh humanoid incarnation. Personally, it's more surreal and scary for some odd reason. Maybe because it's more human like, and there's some humanity in there, hence being more tragic but gruelsome.
Very true, which begs the question, just how scary do they plan on making him? Because to be honest, Spidey's villains could be extremely terrifying, potentially.
Raimi did a good job with Doc Ock by at least giving him some level of fear, shaking the ground before he shows up and such, but beyond that, he played the villains more hammy than anything (which worked quite well for that particular trilogy)
