The Amazing Spider-Man The Lizard is The Villain!

Yes, this debate is obviously pointless since apparently neither of you get the point, except Oscorp and maybe Gianakin. I wasn't saying it's great already, I was saying give it a chance and see how it turns out, whether you liked Raimi's movies or not. But it's useless to debate anything on a forum like SHH obviously, where everyone is overreacting.

Kthxbye!
I was arguing against the notion that those who disagree with you aren't "true" spidey fans. It's so ridiculously pompous of you, reminiscent of Mr Parker and bakerboy.

Then you went on to claim said opinion as fact, which holds no basis in logic.

Clearly, you're the one who missed the point, and anybody willing to read over the little exchange between you and I should come to that conclusion as well (provided they read above the fifth grade level).

Kthxbye!

Did I say that it shouldn't be torn in any way?? Of course it should, I'm not dumb. But the coat and trousers should still be kept on imo.

Agreed.
The labcoat might get discarded sometime after the initial transformation as Lizzy becomes more savage, but he still needs some kind of pants, even if he does have a retractable schlong.

Of course it is a fact. If you are a Spider-Man fan, you should care about Spider-Man first of all.

But let's get back on topic, I hope The Lizard hides under your bed!:oldrazz:

peter parker is what always fascinated me about spider-man dynamic and the fact he was an every man. I hate when people stress their opinion as fact as to what spider-man should or shouldn't be.

spider-man should quip more, that an opinion, that isn't a fact.

Doesn't they whole genius thing go against that everyman image though? You see? Ya can't have it both ways.

I know that, so do I! BUT what you are saying is completely different that what I said, you have completely missed the point! This is old and useless to debate, let's just drop it, ok?
I was saying something because there was a guy here sticking up for Raimi and putting this reboot down! That's it. We are way over this now, no need to get back on it.

Back to The Lizard, can anyone recommend some movies of Rhys Ifans? I don't think I even seen before or maybe minor roles that I don't remember? I would like to get a glimpse of him as an actor.:)

It’s the same thing as people not liking the new direction of Spidey in the 616 universe. They, as fans, disagree with how Marvel has handled a character they love, and are no longer buying the book, or, at the very least are waiting until things get fixed. And unfortunately, the only way things are going to get fixed is if the new direction does poorly.

The caliber of their “fanhood” is not weakened by their lack of interest of BND (or in this case the reboot). They just have different opinions as to how Spidey should be handled, be it in comic or film mediums.

For you to throw about the “true faN!!!111!” crap is both childish and ridiculous. Go take your superior race bs elsewhere.

But back on topic.

I wouldn't mind seeing Spidey duke it out with the Lizard in the jungle, if only for a change of scenery...but there'd have to be a damn good reason for Spidey to leave New York.

I wonder if we will see Spider-Man against other reptiles, I don't know, maybe some snakes like a huge python or an anaconda? The Lizard could release them in the sewer or so? In the comics he was had to deal with snakes a couple of times, in the swamps of Florida and when he fought Lizard on top of a train, one of the wagons was carrying reptiles if I remember well?

Would it be too corny? Also the thing is, if they would manage to handle it visually... unless they would use real snakes.

They knew BND sucked after they read it, but they don't know if the reboot will or will not suck, that's impossible. So much for your ridiculous argument, Chuckles. I agree BND sucked though and no wonder almost everyone hated it, hell I didn't like it myself. Maybe it's not my right to judge, since you are all frustrated by that, obviously;), but as I said, don't put it down before you see it, cause (IMO, happy now?), it has a great chance to turn out good so far!

Chuckles? Really? Ha.

1. My point, which you apparently have a knack for missing in people's posts, had nothing to do with someone liking or not liking something PRIOR to reading/watching it.

My point was that having a negative opinion of something that has to do with Spider-Man does not make them any less of a fan. I used the BND only as a correlation, which leads me to....

2. MANY people (my self included) disliked BND before even reading it. I think it is safe to say MOST of us who do not like it had those feelings prior to reading it (due to hating the idea of MJ and Peter's marriage being gone).

So even IF my post had ANYTHING to do with liking/disliking something prior to experiencing it (which it didn't), my "ridiculous" argument would still hold water.

I, for one, am giving this movie a chance. But if I was pissing and moaning about the decisions that I didn't like and saying this movie would fail, I would be just as much a "true fan" (god, i hate when nerds with nothing in their lives worthwhile use that term to justify and give meaning to such a useless thing), as I would be if I tattooed 'Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man FOREVA!!!! on my chest.

Good for you, overreact, that's the spirit! But seriously, "oookay". Maybe we can finally move on now! Or...got more?:)

Thought so too, but I wanted to see what you guys think about it aswell. Wow, we agree on something. Sweet!

I believe that I calmly addressed your points. I don't see how that is overreacting. But I can see how, in your defensiveness, you would be quick to say something like that instead of admitting someone has a point.
