I have a ferret named Loki! And yes, he certainly does cause his fair share of mischief when I let him out of his cage.

Anyways, is anyone else getting pretty weary of the aggressive fangirls? I mean there's no denying that Tom is a good looking man, but I've encountered some rather obsessive fangirlish behavior that has caused me to step back from the Tom adoration for awhile.

But seriously, the guy needs to stop being so intelligent and charming all the time. >_< He's getting us ladies in trouble!

Ok, sorry...couldn't resist, but she really is named Loki - we just rescued her from the animal shelter today (we figure she's probably 3-4 months old? Shelter wasn't sure - she was only recently aquired) and for a while we've known that when we got a new cat we were going to name it Loki - especially if we got a black cat, already it seems to fit her personality (she's full of energy and mischief).

OK, back to reality and Tom Hiddleston/Loki talk. For those not aware, Tom does now have an official facebook page updated by him and "Team Tom" (figure that probably translates to Luke Windsor and maybe some others). https://www.facebook.com/twhiddleston Updates from him are most likely going to mirror his tweets (that's my guess anyways). Thankfully they aren't allowing comments on the wall itself so fangirls are only able to gush in comments to photos and statuses - hopefully that will help keep things more easily maintained and easier to look at for those that don't want to read through gushing drivel.

Also Tom related, a reminder for those in the UK that Henry IV Part 1 is on this weekend on the BBC Two channel (I believe).

She is adorable! A kitten is that manic stage of kittenhood can easily live up to the name Loki because they are tiny weapons of mass destruction (and cuteness). Congrats on the new addition to your family. I almost envy you the amount of fun you're going to have raising little Loki.

Well, he was at Wimbledon though so he hasn't gone into total seclusion. That's the problem when a good looking man as an entertainer becomes the love object of hormonally charged girls. I do feel bad for Tom because he just can't conduct himself like he used to before Thor. And I do hate to say it but in America everything is amped up to dial 11 so when a person becomes a heart throb or hotty the mob mentality can be enormous. And then you have the aggressive guys and girls that just want to have a casual fling with you, sometimes whether you want to or not. Really I have seen people in public fairly throw themselves at their objects of desire like that turns them on. Really no one is thinking of how to be respectful and polite around total strangers, especially celebrities. I think the hardest thing for poor Tommy is that he most likely was not expecting to be thrust into this craziness called fame. All he really wanted to do was the best job he could do as Loki in Thor. He hadn't signed up for all this insanity of possessive fandom by all these girls and guys of various social status.

Anyways, I was thinking that Tommy would be great as American Tennis Legend John McEnroe. I'm sure he'd have a lot of fun performing one of McEnroe's famous on court temper tantrums he's oh so famous for. Get both he and Jimmy Connors on the same court and they were just as explosive verbally as they were on the court Tennis wise. I used to love watching those guys playing tennis, tantrums and all. Just a sampler of McEnroe at his Worst(Best):


*Edit* I was just thinking of this when laying in bed rousing myself awake but it just struck me that in a year's time Tommy has gone through many varying emotional highs and lows both professionally and personally, perhaps experienced a bit of heart break in between. I just wish that some of these aggressive obsessors would give the poor guy some room to breath because this level of intrusive attention is like being locked in a cage for him I wager. He is a very friendly guy but I just sense some people have been taking advantage of that and I as a fan do not like thinking like that because he is such a good person he is gullible to their suggestions. You don't need to look any further than when he's greeting fans on the red carpet to see how generous he is. It just makes me a bit disturbed and angry to think that untrustworthy people want to latch onto such a gracious man like Tom Hiddleston. I hate the thought of him being used by some less than conscientious men or women who are addicted to social status and what he can do for them socially and financially by just being associated with him. I really don't know what Tom is like though but still I just don't want to see him end up with these kinds of people who are shallow users that don't care about his well being, just how he can fund their raunchy, selfish entertainment.

Because of my interest in Loki, I've been doing a lot of reading about him. I found that even in the original mythology, Loki is neither good or evil. Actually, according to historians, there is no such duality in the Norse pagan religion. I liked that about Loki. There's one story where he was travelling with Thor just hanging out and having an adventure. Of course, there's the famous story about Sleipnir. In that story, Loki was actually being nice and it was the gods who were being cheap. They didn't want to pay the builder for the wall being constrcuted with the help of the horse Svaðilfari. The gods told Loki to do something to delay the construction or else he will be punished. And we know what he did.

I don't know. However, the DVD for the entire series will be out this October 1. Tom was amazing as Prince Hal in Henry IV Part 1 & 2 and as King Henry in Henry V.

Side note to clarify, that DVD is in the UK and so will be region encoded for UK - we won't get a DVD here in the states until (at the very least) after it airs here. Last rumors I heard were that it would either be later this year or sometime early next year (I think one of Tom's tweets had indicated he thought it might be around February) and that it would be on PBS (I hope to goodness that they don't edit it/tone down the violence with it airing on PBS - knowing my luck they probably will *grr*)

I'm still not positive on which show will be airing it. Normally, it seems like something for Masterpiece Classic but the Patrick Stewart Macbeth and David Tennant Hamlet were shown through Great Performances so that might be the case here. Masterpiece has been known for cutting things here and there but I'm not aware of Great Performances doing so especially with it being Shakespeare. However, my guess would be next spring.

PBS doesn't cut things like the regular channels do. Honestly, until that flap with Janet Jackson, they didn't even bleep cuss words or anything. They just put a warning that the following program would have stuff and was recommended for mature audiences.
