The Avengers The Loki/Tom Hiddleston Thread. We need Loki-Love.

His character is possibly the best part of Thor for me.
And we know he's coming back to the avengers.
Yeah i know, he probably won't be alone. (Avenger's Initiative started in iron man 1, he was still in asgard at that time)
but still. looking through 9 pages of topics, multiple times, i'm still appalled we dont have a thread.

Let's use this thread to discuss what part you think Loki will play. How will he use the cube? How/will he manipulate hulk/banner? How can he manipulate everyone? What will Thor think?
What threat will he unleash, so big that it needs a team to defeat it? etc etc.
What do you guys think?

If I'm not mistaken, I remember reading a interview from Tom saying on how Loki will be more like his iconic/comic book self in this film than he was in "Thor" given on how much he's changed and experienced since the events of that film.

His traveling through the wormhole could also be used to further expand the MCU since like Tom stated, Loki may have seen A LOT more things that no one is aware of (aka future threats and entities).

I'm surprised that he's not more aware of the Cosmic Cube, since it appeared that he wasn't familiar with the object as I had originally thought he'd be at the end of Thor, given on how it once belonged to Odin.

Well, at least it's been stated that he's not really out for revenge against his brother, but has BIGGER plans.

Hiddleston as LOKI was really great in THOR.

A truly great portayal of a 3-dimensional character; not just a one-diemnsional villian (unlike some overrated performances I could mention).

REALLY looking forward to what they do with the character in THE AVENGERS and beyond!

I know ... loved him in Thor , he was by far my favroite character. I loved the others too but hiddlestons preformance was aswesome you could not help but feel sorry for him, I did anyway lol .

I know he is gonna be one evil convining prick but what I look forward to most of all is how he is gonna interact with the avengers ...because I think Tom stated in an interview that there is alot of tension between loki and the avengers , so I am really looking foward to seeing it... Tom is gonna be great .

I cant really say what his plans are going to be and how he is gonna try and pull them off... its Loki we are talking about . As for Thor I think he is gonna be shocked that he is alive and want to have him come home but he will be blown away when he realizes how much he has changed and knows that he will have to what he has to in order to stop him and save earth.

I am really hoping that Thor will finally find out who Loki really is and its Loki that tells him ... thats one thing that irked me a bit about the movie . its still an awesome movie though and I cant wait for the dvd.

im hoping he controls hulk and then the avengers are assembled because of him. that is as close to the comic as it could be, minus the founding members and no cap.

If I'm wrong about this, then I'll gladly admit it when proven wrong, but I honestly don't think that the Avengers will be formed because of the Hulk.

I do see Iron Man and Thor being present at the scene for when they first meet the Hulk (in an attempt to meet and recruit Banner, only for things to go wrong).

But from what the interviews have implied, it seems like the Hulk won't be the proverbial menace that gets the team together, and Nick fury seems to know of some other threat, a much bigger one, that's looming around, which is the reason why he's recruiting people.

Their personalities possibly clash then loki inadvertedly brings them together by manipulating hulk. and they learn teamwork / to trust each other with teamwork maybe? i dunno. im lost.

im sure there's another big bad that nick fury's more concerned with but i doubt hiddleston will be delegated to manipulating hulk and nothing else. im sure loki has more up his sleeve.

I agree with you ... it was great , hopefully we will see more of it .

I don't think the Avengers will be assembled because of the Hulk, but I do expect Hulk to become a menace against the Avengers, probaby due to Loki's manipulation, and he'll forced the entire team to help taking him down.

End of iron man 1 stark approaches Ross because of the hulk. I think the first mission will be Aproaching the hulk. They don't really know if they can communicate with him yet. maybe they go to subdue him then realize he isn't a monster. Maybe he actually speaks to them and they then recruit him.

It seems like a lot of the speculation is what I was thinking, that Loki will try and manipulate Hulk and thats what really brings the team together initially.

I really like this threat but I feel its deff not going to be the overall massive threat The Avengers will be facing. If this is true do you think thats just too much conflict to have in one movie? Or have The Avengers for 1/2 of it subdue and recruit The Hulk then the back half deal with the initial threat of (dare I say the skrulls! ) then for Avengers 2 have the whole movie be about the skrull invasion, if thats it that is.

Yeah, I was thinking about the plot of the Avengers the other day, and in one scenario we can have the Avengers cornering Loki (with Dr. Banner tagging along), and Loki just smirked and said that they were the ones who're cornered, not him. Then we see Dr. Banner starting to lose control (thanks to Loki's manipulation) and began to Hulk out. It could be an amazing scene if done right.

Ya, I still say that the Hulk will be the big distraction Loki needs in order to enact his plan .... potentially to get the cube in his possession.

While I believe that Loki will be responsible for some of the MAJOR things that take place in this film, to the point where his actions end up leading to the formation of the Avengers, I don't think one of those things will be him mind controlling the hulk in this film.

We've had more reports stating that the Hulk will be more Avenger/Hero than potential menace in this film, and Tom has stated that the Hulk is one of the heroes that will be against Loki in this film.

Or maybe it's just relating to the adoptee aspect, unsure - but definitely hope they keep the same dynamics as in Thor. That's what really made him stick out as a villain.

I'm ecstatic that we get to see more of Hiddleston's Loki. I don't think I've ever seen a movie villain that managed to bring more heart and humanity to their film.

I agree with you .. he is such a complex character , it would be a shame if they changed him in anyway but I know for sure that hiddleston spoke with the avengers director and they talked about the type of person Loki is and where he comes from .. so I dont think they will change the dynamics.
