I always thought it was kind of weird that splinter wore clothes,but the turtles just ran around naked.
Especially since he raised them from babies.
So I don't really mind the clothes at all.
haha

I never thought about that until now! So yeah, I don't mind clothes at all. Besides, I don't think they will wear them the entire movie

That image of the shell with the design is on the legacyefx.com website. They are one of the vfx companies working on the movie. I think that is just a teaser poster that was released a long time ago. Its interesting that it is tattooed on mikey's arm. Maybe they all get this tattoo at some point in the movie.

I didn't know that. I just managed to spot the turtle tat on Mikey's arm there

Well they are getting colored bandannas which was from the cartoon and from what I hear their personalities will be based on the cartoons....so what they don't have beaks and they wear clothes. Splinter wears clothes and nobody gives a ****. You put sneakers on a turtle and all hell breaks loose

It really is. It's 2014 for crying out loud. They are dressing like teenagers and I'd be shocked if they wore the clothes the entire movie. People need to chill and relax

I think it's about 95% accurate. Someone at a toy fair said the turtles would not have beaks in the movie

I'm not expecting a beak or anything, hell I don't even have a problem with face. It looks like a ninja turtle. And the fact that he has lips makes sense, how else is he supposed to legibly speak? The nostrils are no biggie either. But maybe im just more open to "new" faces.

Hell even when they had beaks they had some form of lips, you can obviously see their lips curl when speaking so I'm cool with it. I'm just not used to this face in live action

can't believe how you can stay positive about this look....normally theres discussions about hair or the lack of helmets, or other nitpicking stuff...now no one thinks this face looks nothing like the turtles?

After a few hours of being in full on meltdown mode, I have calmed down.

And on that note, I must say......... this isn't that bad.

Actually, it's pretty good, and it's definitely unique.

I must applaud Jonathan Liebesman and Co. for pulling off a more humanoid, or rather, more realistic look that isn't totally creepy looking, like some of the fan art we've seen created over the years. After seeing many humanoid variations over the years, I can honestly say that this could've been much, much worst.

Honestly, if you were to take away the nose and the more noticable lips, its REALLY not that different than other designs. And huge thumbs up for the texture on the rest of his body. That little detail is very nice. Hopefully its featured on the heads as well.

Now, as far as the clothing is concerned....... that's not that bad either. And like the head design, it's no where near as bad as it could have been. I, personally, like the clothes. I feel they fit nicely.

The only things about this design that I don't like, from what we can see from this costume, is the 'Next Mutation' like shell (or at least, that's what it reminds ME of) and what appears to be a tattoo on his left arm. Though, the design of the tattoo is definitely cool, so it at least has that going for it.


So for now, I'll give this design a 7.5.

Almost gave it an 8, but that godforsaken tattoo bothers me too much.
