how many times does he go to jail b/c if u pat attention when hes setting there the first time we see him is has shorter hair but towards they end there is a another very quick clip when hes clapping his hands again but his sleves are rolled up and his hair is longer ???

my guess: once post fight when batman kicks his @$$, and then at the very end in arkham (plzz god, make harley his DR at the end of the flick) just my guess...

Great article, IGN always has good write ups. The Joker has definitely undergone many visual changes but the basics always remain.

I never liked the first picture released of Ledger, and fortunately none following really looked like that either. The other pictures were just decent. I prefer the more comic book/cartoony look(my favorite Joker designs being Bolland, Ross, Nicholson, & TAS), but after seeing this Joker in motion, I can now definitely say I like it more than I previously did. Visually, it may not be my favorite but Heath will mos def make it work

Jack's look was more cartoony like the comics...but Heath's is more 'real' looking. Like I said before, the look of Jack's Joker and even most of the flashy Joker looks in the comic only belong there. Never did I imagine that Jack's Joker could exist in the real world, that's how it is with Heath. He's playing the real life Joker and needs that gritty look.

I can really see what they are going for with the Joker when I watch these scenes of Clockwork Orange.

I have never seen the movie, so I decided to search it. I feel that anyone who has never seen the movie, should check these out.

They are awesome, the last scene almost represents what Joker would be like in Arkham.

Yeah i believe it is (wasn't sure if it was a graphic novel that i haven't read like Long Halloween) someone on here said it was detective but i just need to find out what issue now.

This new Joker is just selling this movie to me right now. As much as I loved Batman Begins, I never felt any threat from the bad guys at all but looking at Heath as Joker and how he come across in the prologue, I believe TDK will be a very special film indeed. In fact, I'll go as far as saying that this will be one hell of a good cop movie let alone Batman. I really don't care for the lack of a serious origin for the character either - we know he is going to be an utter madman who treats everything like (no pun intended here!) a joke. To me, The Joker has always been about being a sick, twisted screwball who is as much a freak as Bruce Wayne and as long as the movie plays off on the battle of wits between Batman and Joker rather than making Joker seem like a cartoon, I'll be more than happy. I love the look and feel of this movie and I think Joker looks amazing and it speaks more about the mind of the character when he CHOOSES to apply make-up, it's very creepy and just proves that Heath isn't going to emulate what Jack Nicholson did. Heath owns.

I know that I have brought this up in other threads, but I have received no real answer. It seems like in the bank scene, one minute the Joker's hair is Heath's hair color then it magically changes to green at the end... what is up with that? Any ideas anyone?

I think just the front of his hair is grreen at that part.

That way people dont see it until his mask is off.

But the back of his head also looks very wet and greasy, and when hair is wet the colour is darker...

But they also say he becomes more and more The Joker in this movie.

So maybe for the bank scene he just coloured teh front of his hair (so that it could be hidden behind the front of the mask)

I was thinking that, too but I watched it again and the part where the one goon says, "I bet the Joker told you to kill me when we loaded all the cash" Heath's hair was his normal hair color in the back, then when the "bus driver" came out, it was clearly green. Do you think it was to hide the fact that he was the joker to the audience until the last minute, or was it simply an editing error?

^ yeah i havent seen the prologue yet but i wondered that from the pics and descriptions aswell...

That was exactly it.

It was no mistake.

And it wasn't like it changed from green to normal and then back to green throughout the prologue, it was simply green at the end, but it just made me scratch my head a little. I wanna say it was to hide from the audience the fact that the "silent goon" was indeed the Joker until the end. I believe they wanted to be sly and slowly integrate the green hair in a way that wouldn't have people saying, "Wow! Now his hair is green!" ...even though I did, haha.

Seems like shoddy work to me.

If they left the hair green, there'd be the plot hole of the goons not realizing the Joker was with them. If they didn't color it green, though, the Joker reveal would lose its impact.

So, to make it work, they just jumbled the two together. That'd be my guess, anyways.

I am thinking it might be one of those weird things we see that we have to roll with. I really hope its not because it really really annoys me since I am trying to catch when it turns green and you can gradually see it doing it.

I think my best explanation for it would be this... it's a comic book movie. Like in Batman Returns when Batman is going to reveal himself to Selena as Bruce Wayne: one minute his eyes have makeup and the next minute... they don't.

ya i think thats whats going to happen. I really dont care for that but if thats what they do thats what they do
