The Marvel Implosion

No but it's a slight return to positive figures. It's hard to gauge right now but one thing is for sure, they'll never see numbers like they have in the past.

Lol, there's no other companies to really poach them from. The only poaching is when they try to actively recruit writers/artists from one another. All of the other companies, like Image and Dark Horse, are all basically just publishing companies that don't have direct ties with those creators.

I don't see why that would matter. If a creator has a book with Image or Boom! or whoever that has a good buzz it seems that would get the attention of Marvel or DC. Hell Bendis epitomizes that.

That's the case, and how most creators get noticed that exact way, but I don't think it's really accurate to say Marvel or DC really 'poach' from these companies when they don't have the same kind of set with talent that they do. They don't really employ talent in the same way, at least from my understanding.

wow didn't know how the DC relaunch was gonna effect Marvel...wasnt expecting this

Yeah, I'm surprised it's kept up its steam this long. Marvel's definitely gotta start coming up with ways to counter this renewed interest in DC in the long run.

Hypertime Crisis on the Kree/Skrull Invasions of Infinite Earths vs. X-Men/Defenders War!

The secret is how many tie-ins you'll be required to buy to get the whole story. :awesome:

all of them

Not to mention the prologue issues
the Frontline issues where new yorkers are the by standers
and then the aftermath issues where the X-men/Avengers/Defenders/FF/Power pack/Champions agree to never fight again...until the next event
not to mention that six months before this Marvel with telegraph to everyone that a major character will die...then tell the news outlets the monday before the issue comes out and spoil the issue....only to return a few issues later....death has been called a revolving door in the Marvel U and has now been relegated to flu status...Marvel U Walgreens have a shot you can get to cure death

Marvel has decided to no longer publish titles under its CrossGen imprint.

Yea I never saw one in stores. Were there plans and they just decided against it?

I remember them saying they were gonna start publishing them, then nothing happened and I forgot about. Looking at all the other books that have been canned, I suppose we shoulda saw it coming.....if most of us actually gave a s**t that is. :o

Marvel published Ruse, Sigil, and Mystic but they had horrific sales. They also had plans for Route 666 and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, but they have now been shelved.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Sojourn Crossgen's biggest seller? Why did they not start with that one? I'd have tried it.

You and about 2 or 3 thousand others......which is not very good in terms of sales. :o

Marvel needs to have some non-superhero titles; sci-fi, detective, etc. If this is done well, it could really give a fresh boost for Marvel.

Fantastic Four? Moon Knight?

Aren't those Sci-Fi and Detective, respectively?

:ff: :ff: :ff:

Marvel shouldn't add any new titles until the market stabilizes and they know where it stands looking towards the future.....but they won't.:csad:

my feelings were they basically botched this themselves. Too much change and very disappointing for a fan of the Original series. Marvel has no one to blame but themselves. It was such a weak effort. They were almost published in secret with no advertising also.

As for marvel, Very disappointing at the news
of this new Nova is basically a teenager named Sam Alexande
r, I really think Waid writing Nova would be awesome, but this seems like a single digital issue.

I have no interest in digital comics, especially at Marvel's price.

Thunderbolts is ending with May's issue #174. However a new title is replacing it with issue #175, because that has worked so well with Daredevil/Black Panther, Wolverine/Dark Wolverine, and Thor/Journey into Mystery.
