Which actor's career has benefitted the most from the MCU? Who's had the best post-MCU career? The worst?

Define 'Post-MCU'. Because if we're talking specifically about people who've definitively stopped appearing in MCU movies and moved on to other projects, then there are very, very few candidates to consider. Unless we're including all the one-off characters like Ultron, Pierce, Ego, etc, but I wouldn't say any of them had an 'MCU Career' to begin with.

If we're just talking about who has had the best career while simultaneously appearing regularly in the MCU, honestly most of the candidates for the top spot were already doing well prior to appearing in the MCU (Cumberbatch, Rudd, Johanssen, etc). Probably the best candidate for someone heavily benefiting from the MCU is amusingly enough RDJ who had been persona non grata for a long time before Iron Man. But then, he also did Sherlock Holmes almost simultaneously with Iron Man, so you can't give the MCU all the credit, either.

Holmes didn't start filming till Oct 2008, more than enough time for the hype of Iron Man to make Downey a viable choice to the director and suits.

RDJ's casting was announced in July, so would've been finalized before that. But I suppose a month and a half or so after Iron Man's release might still have been enough time.

Benefitted the most, the three Chris - Hemsworth, Evans and Pratt. Best post mcu career, hmm thats hard to answer. Several mcu actors had flops/hits outside of their mcu films. But a lot of them who got major movie roles outside of the mcu must be doing great financially.

Chris Pratt certainly became the biggest star out of the three. He was the schlubby funny guy on Parks and Rec, and post Guardians has become an action movie star. He's certainly the biggest name that's done the best financially with his name alone.

Hemsworth is next and has done a great variety of things, but hasn't really been able to sell his name alone like Pratt can.

Evans is last and never really broke out beyond Marvel, with maybe Knives Out his biggest standout (but that's part of an ensemble). His "blockbuster" choices have been horrendous.

Evans at least sort of had that Hollywood heartthrob vibe going for him when he was in projects like Scott Pilgrim and Not Another Teen Movie where he literally played that hot guy trope in his first role, even. But I do feel that outside of Captain America, and even then, he's never really been a leading man. He works better as part of an ensemble.

I always love Evans in his roles outside the marvel films even if the movies arent good. Although Evans looks like he's making a fool out of himself in that new Red One movie with The Rock.

Yea looking at some of his recent movies, I can totally see why he would pick them even if they weren't well received but I find myself scratching my head why he's doing Red One (other than the paycheck I guess).

What little I saw of that Limitless series with Hemsworth I did at least like. Hemsworth has been more open than a lot of the other leading MCU stars about his age and it was nice to see him be reflective about that. Could this have been done with any actor? Sure, but I think it's because Hemsworth has talked about his age a lot that made it resonate to me.

Yeah, Chris Evans' choices have been horrible. Same with Tom Holland.
I'd say Chris Hemsworth has been the busiest of the bunch.

Does Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine count? Because he's done very well. :)

I can't at those Twitter accounts acting like Marvel Studios will announce Scarlet Witch, Thor 5, Doctor Strange 3, Nova, Midnight Sons. Some of those could be right but still.

I'm hoping they will announce the full 2026 line up (3 or 2 movies + 2 live action shows). Then save 2027 and the rest for other times.

It lines up with the reports I saw a few weeks back that SDCC was gonna be focused on only the movies while D23 was just going to be shows (though this makes it seems its only animated shows).

So, the updated schedule is:

2026
13 February - ???
01 May - Avengers: Doomsday
06 November - ???

2027
07 May - Avengers: Secret Wars
23 July - ???
05 November - ???

Looks like they're not going back to only 2 movies a year and with another Spider-Man from Sony on the way again, we might get 4 in either 2026 or 2027. Interestingly enough, Blade hasn't shifted from its November 2025 release date yet but they're probably not announcing the delay before they have another director on board.

Very curious what the one movie between Doomsday and Secret Wars will be.

Blade hasn't shifted probably because they aren't sure yet which new release date it should get. And it would take a miracle to keep the November 2025 date, when they have yet to find a new director for it.

Anyway these placeholder dates don't mean that much when plenty of studios will shuffle dates for different factors. If The Fantastic 4: First Steps face issues during filming and test screenings, it could get delayed up to 2026.

They're not releasing 10 movies within three years, those dates are surely going to change. Also Blade will most definitely be released 2026 or beyond, if ever. I'm guessing Spider-Man 4 will fit somewhere there as well.
