Marvel Films The Marvel Studios News and Discussion Thread

Good. Fans are spoiled. Keep some mystery to what is coming.

We won’t be getting any X-men news for a decade til Secret Wars wraps

Last year was exciting and 2 months after D23 they delayed almost everything every 2 months (even when the strike wasn’t impending ) - so presenting nothing is better

Deadpool has X-Men though. And Secret Wars probably too, which should give us hints and ideas, how they will differentiate the era of X-Men later on.

A decade is eXcessive and eXaggerated.

I remember how everyone here naively thought after the Fox deal was announced we'd start seeing the X-Men in the MCU in months and that Fox and Marvel could already starting using characters.

2019-2020-2022-2024

The last X-Men movie was released in 2019. Last X-Men spin off was The New Mutants in 2020. Then in less than 2 years, Sir Patrick Stewart appeared in Multiverse of Madness playing the same character.

And neXt year, we are seeing Ryan, Hugh and possibly Famke, Marsden and Halle. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is a X-Men spin off film character. He will be always a direct connection to the foX-Men era until his last Marvel film.

The X-Men haven't been really away in the movies. I eXpect them to show up in Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars in 2026 and 2027.

The only thing missing is a feature film with the X-Men as the lead.

It can't be FoX's Spider-Man No Way Home without its Daredevil.

Ben Affleck to act as a lawyer for Ryan Reynolds?

Deadpool 3: Ben Affleck Rumored to Be on Set of MCU Sequel

:daredevil

I actually really love this. I always enjoyed the DD movie back in the day, cheese and all lol. I don't feel Affleck got a fair shot at playing the character he truly wanted to with his DD/Murdock. He has expressed much frustration over the film for years, maybe they will give him an awesome cameo.

Or he could be playing himself, who knows. Would love to see him suit up though.

Wow. I'm loving these rumored cameos. Channing Tatum's Gambit has the same vibe of THAT Superman cameo in The Flash, except this one won't be CGI... Hopefully lol!

Given his Free Guy cameo, I should've figured it'd be Tatum. And seems we're getting closer and closer to the TAS lineup.

This is why the MCU isn’t what it used to be. It’s introduced so many characters that there’s too long a time between getting sequels to movies that were actually good. Unlike comics, actors do actually age. I doubt we will ever get a real sequel. We will be lucky if even see Moon Knight again.

Yeah thats crazy. You would think that they'd go ahead and at least film the movie and have it on lock.

We got all 3 Captain America movies within 5 years and Shang Chi wont even be able to release until late 2026/2027 at this point putting 6 years between the first film.

And even characters that didn’t get a sequel like Strange showed up in other places

They have gone overboard giving too many ips their own film. A solo movie for Falcon and a team movie for MCU supporting characters in the form of Thunderbolts are eXcessive. And now Deadpool is even getting his own Mcu film before Marvel Studios releases Blade and 4.

It should have been like this
2021-2024-2027 Shang-Chi trilogy
2021-2024-2028 Eternals
2016-2022-2025 Dr. Strange
2018-2022-2026 Black Panther
2019-2023-2027 Captain Marvel
2024-2027-2030 4
2024-2026-2028 Blade

The ones that debuted under a TV series aren't much priorities imo, and could easily be included in someone's movie like Photon, Ironheart and Ms. Marvel. Though I still don't know where Moon Knight, Daredevil and Man Thing should show up. She-Hulk and Wonder Man are probably in the Avengers, just like in the comics. While Echo and Agatha Harkness feel like TV-side characters only.

With everything happening in Disney and Hollywood, it should give them time to reevaluate. There's really no need for a Young Avengers movie, and a spin off show/special presentation for Silver Surfer at this moment. And we don't need to wait 12 years for a Shang-Chi 3 and an Eternals 3, if they plan to make a 3quel for those two.

Yeah, made the wider universe feel much more alive. It’s all been a bit stop-start since and a bunch of momentum lost.
