My children are no longer in the picture, Marx. So either way it's neither here nor there for me.

I'm sorry to hear that USMC. It's not a bad thing to care about the future's of others though. (Related to you or not.) And judging from your screen name, I would say that you do care. You cannot get anymore dedicated to this country than serving in the military. (I am assuming you have served. Even if you haven't, you obviously have a regard for our armed forces...which again, means that you do care about others.)

You sound like who listens to others but hasn't bothered to research this particular nugget of information. Intriguing.

I used to work on energy policy when I was interning on the hill. I also took a class on this very topic.

So, as far as I'm concerned, there's no better research than forced research.

No, I have no problems with torture when it's warranted. And contrary to what bleeding hearts want to believe, sometimes it is warranted.

so then, Vietnam? the VC were whithin their rights to torture American soldiers ( I think they liked to waterboard people BTW) and the Japanese during WWII?

And the environment? Please. Had Clinton allowed drilling 10 years ago, we would have that oil NOW. So yeah, since I'll be long dead before the world starts walking around in gas masks 24/7, I say drill now.

dude :down

I apologize to ya!!! :o

I am an American, Sparkle, therefore I agree with Americans doing what is necessary when it is warranted toi keep us safe. Obviously I would be against the VC so why would I agree with any of their "rights" **** them. :)

Anyone that believes in fighting fair is usually gonna be the first ones to get their ass kicked.

Thumbs down or not, what I said is no less true.

I do care and I have served. Some of what I say is tongue in cheek, as posters who've known me here for years can attest to. Some of what I say is just to get an honest reaction out of people, too. I am also a very jaded mother ****er, and try to be a realist as well. I can also, at times, be pretty self serving.

But one thing I will not do is take responsibility for others' decisions. I do not believe in bending over backwards to help or accommodate people who choose to make stupid decisions,

I am actually an extremely compassionate person, however I am absolutely not a sympathetic one.

I'll keep that in mind. :yay:

My my USMC, Whatever happend to you? You used to be one of the most vocal opponents to BushCo. What in the world happend to you to make you even consider voting for McBush?

BTW A few questions forya if you don't mind, You still in California? Why are your kids "No longer in the picture". Does it have something to do with what you told us when you got out of the USMC? If so, I'm so sorry.:csad:

If you don't wish to go over it here then PM me if you want. I'd like to hear what you've been up to since you was last here.

I thought I was having some sort of flashback and wasn't thinking straight. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

USMC was anti-Bush, if I remember right, not anti-Republican.

McCain Hires Former Giuliani Campaign Manager as New Political Director
by FOXNews.com
Sunday, July 6, 2008

Former Rudy Giuliani campaign manager Mike Duhaime will be the new political director for John McCain’s campaign, officials announced Sunday.

Duhaime is the first hire by Steve Schmidt since he took over operational control of the campaign last week.

Before working on the former New York City mayor’s unsuccessful campaign bid, Duhaime was political director of the Republican National Committee. He also served as a regional political director for the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2004.

Duhaime is a protege of former RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman, who developed an elaborate national get-out-the-vote effort for the Bush campaign in 2004.

This guy didn't exactly do Rudy any ginormous favors, so I'm not sure what McCain thinks he's going to bring to his own campaign.

Rudy's strategy was good in theory. If he won Florida he would've been a contender. I don't think he anticipated McCain's bump from New Hampshire being as large as it was.

It's never wise to put all your eggs in one basket.

Basically all campaigns do though. Edwards and Obama both had all their eggs in Iowa. A loss in Iowa meant the end of their campaigns. Obama won, so his campaign thrived. A loss in New Hampshire would've ended Clinton and McCain, etc. Giuliani simply picked an odd state to put his eggs in as Florida isn't traditionally an early primary.

I just don't believe it's a good idea to basically ignore every state previous. (Which is essentially what Guiliani did.) Putting emphasis on the first contest in the primary season is to be expected.

Rudy would be the Republican candidate if he had not had such a dumb ass strategy. He killed his campaign before it started. *shakes head*

And now McCain has hired Rudy's chief strategist to head up his own campaign. :hehe:
