Yeah, even though I believe that the ad is EXACTLY what happened.....I think him making it an official ad "might" be a problem.......but not a big one.

The group he's wanting to hit with it, I'm sure are saying....."damn straight". lol

Hillary is not on the ticket because she made it known that she did not want to be vetted if she was not going to be picked. I don't think anyone in their right minds would have accepted those terms. It's just too bad more people people don't know about this.

Wow, how hypocritical is that ad. Making Obama out to be the guy that resorts to negative attacks.

McCain ads, seriously, how many of them actually tell us something about McCain? It seems like most of them don't mention a single thing about what McCain is for.

Still, playing into the bitterness over Hillary not becoming VP is effective.

You have to wonder what kind of ad McCain's camp would have come up with if Hillary did get the VP.

They wouldn't need one - they would of just won the election. :cwink:

I have a feeling they would have hit on something like "3 president ticket" because Obama by himself is not ready......who knows.......but they definitely would have had alot of slams from Hillary just like they are using now.

McCain would win the election????? Is that what you are saying????

Sorry, but I totally disagree with that........the Republicans are jumping for joy right now that its Biden with is 9,000 votes and not Hillary with her 9 million votes.........

But the electorate aren't poker chips where it's winner take all . Many of the independents now for Obama and the 'Obamacans' would have been driven away by having Hillary on the ticket. She's still one of the most divisive folks in politics.

I'm going to venture to say there are FAAAAAAAAR more Democrats that now are not voting, or voting Republican THAT WOULD go back to Obama if Hillary was on the ticket, and they far outweigh the number of Obamacans out there......

And I'm sure that Obama thought about that......and then his wife said...

"honey, you choose that ***** as your running mate, and I'll stand by you in front of the cameras.....but for the next 8 years...........you ain't getting nothing in the bedroom......":cwink:

I think if Hillary would of picked Obama - it would of helped out greatly short term, but it would of destroyed his campaign in the long term.

Nothing scares away independents quite like Hillary Clinton. She is right up there with Bush as the most divisive figure in American politics today.

I realize that......but IMO, they would not have needed as many of those undecided independents......to win.

Would he need AS MANY? No. Would he still need many? Yes. I think McCain would of picked Joe Lieberman as his VP if Obama picked Hillary - and I think a McCain/Lieberman ticket would of stomped over Obama/Clinton.

Nah, I think people are overestimating the amount of PUMAs out there, and underestimating the amount of people who would think twice about voting for Obama (myself included) after all the stunts she pulled in the primary. That would have been pandering to the EXTREME.

And I'm sure Obama MIGHT have thought about it (before she issued the you must pick me if you vet me ultimatum). But there is that big ol' lump of dough in need of anger managment called Bill Clinton that she has attached to her, and girl, no matter what you think of Obama he's smarter than thinking of bringing aboard that drama. Plus the fact that I'm sure they'd have to vet Bill too and with all his questionable speaking fees earned after his presidency there's no way in hell he'd either allow or survive that.

Did you just call Kel "girl"?

:huh::huh::huh:

But I am a girl......

older girl.....but still a girl at heart............................

But for some reason.......I saw a *snap* with that "girl" comment from Uberlib.....lol......probably very much like the *snap* that Michelle gave Obama......:cwink:

I know you are female, but I read the post with a similar reaction you did with the snap. It seemed comical, if not slightly disrespectful. :woot:

Nah, I didn't take it as disrespectful........it made me chuckle......:cwink:

I have an extremely vivid imagination of what people look like here.....and I get that picture in my mind as I read the posts here.............I mean absolutely no disrespect, and I'm not even mindful of that as I read the posts.....but sometime I wish I could show you what is going on in my head........it is quite funny. Some are so passionate here.......and I would love to be sitting across from many of you in a bar, discussing this over a beer......its alot of fun.

To give you an example...

When I read in your post....."I know you are female...."

I had a picture of Arnold in Terminator.....lmao

Er, that was supposed to be a sisterly 'girl', since we're both women. But, I also use dude when speaking to other women too. No offense taken at either, I hope. :cwink:

That is exactly how I took it........I tend to, more often than not.....opt for the positive groove.

Christy Mihos: The Mitt I Know: A Warning for McCain and the GOP

He never gives up. He believes it’s his destiny to be president of the United States. He will adopt any position or embrace any person or group to make this happen.

This is the Mitt Romney I know, and I worked with him in Massachusetts state government when he was governor.

The ticket du jour is Sen. John McCain, who, while searching for a VP, is looked upon by Romney as just another facilitator in Mitt’s quest for the White House. Romney will pitch whatever is necessary and appealing to get on McCain’s ticket. McCain apparently is willing to overlook and forgive the taunts and insults the Romney crew heaped upon him when things were down for the Republican candidate last year.

The Romney glare lasered at McClain when coping with the senator’s solid positions – I’ve seen that glare when you tell Romney what won’t work when it interferes with his destiny.

Elected as governor of Massachusetts in 2002 to end “politics as usual,” he did just the opposite. He raised fees, fines and taxes by more than $800 million – even the state gas tax was increased by his executive order. Property taxes in Massachusetts are now at historic and oppressive levels causing an exodus of residents and jobs.

Romney’s promise to take control of the biggest boondoggle in the country’s history, The Big Dig, quickly became an apparition. One month into his term, Romney met with senior Bechtel Corporation officers and thereafter he never uttered a syllable about their criminal work on the $15 billion plus project.

All Romney had to do to take total control of the project was to terminate a two-party agreement between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority. Not Mitt – no sir, it was not politically aligned with his destiny if he owned the albatross and had to make tough decisions.

In fact, he danced and flip-flopped almost the entire four years while all proposed reforms and best practices were put asunder with his tacit approval.

Few bought this “Holier than Thou” act in July of 2006 when the I-90 connector tunnel on the project failed and killed an innocent woman. Mitt donned his hard hat and safety vest and strutted to the scene. Few remembered that he opened this segment of the Big Dig to great fanfare in January of 2003.

In fact, when state bonds were issued during Mitt’s administration, the Commonwealth stated that it had completed safety inspections on these very tunnels. Incredibly enough, after the tragedy, Romney’s people redacted the safety/inspection language and disclosures. That’s the Mitt I know, the Mitt that does no wrong!

Finally, he kissed off Massachusetts and launched his presidential run with an albatross that may rival the Big Dig some day. He wanted to show the country that he was the one man, as a sitting Republican governor in the bluest of states, who could take on the healthcare crisis and provide a solution. His plan, which he stated would cost $200 million annually, and he trumpeted incessantly throughout the primary process, will actually cost $1.2 billion just two years later! Just what the country needs – more budget busters and government mandates from Mitt, “Mr. Small Government” Romney.

Sen. McCain in the late 1980s was the second most ardent critic of the Big Dig in Washington next to President Ronald Reagan when the project was still at $2.3 billion. McCain must never let people like Mitt nor for that matter former Massachusetts acting-governor Jane Swift near his candidacy nor hopefully his administration. With friends like these, one needs no enemies.

Sums up a lot of my thoughts on this.

:hehe:

too bad it seems to be a "dead on" attack piece.
too bad also that politics everywhere is like this and not like it should with actual plans, solutions and debates on these plans and solutions.

If you don't like Romney - then of course it seems "dead on", if you do like Romney it seems "dead wrong" and if you have no strong opinion either way on Romney it makes no difference at all.

I would also argue that the McCain campaign has frequently argued in support for more debates for this election, but Obama - due to his track record of being poor in debates - has been resistant to do any more than absolutely necessary.
