Nah. She's gotta write a book about how evil the administration was. Of course she won't take any responsibility for anything she said. But she'll make a mint.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

lol, I don't think she's the type...

McCain would be good to not only announce Palin as his VP - but Joe Lieberman as Secretary of State.

Hmmmmmmmm.........interesting.

Ya know in this race, these men may have to really, REALLY push all of their early decisions.........VERY EARLY......

I truly believe that the Seven Houses controversy is what prevented Romney from being on the ticket.

I'm afraid I know nothing about this woman. I don't mind fiscal conservatives but is she a social nut?

I'm waiting for Varient to now come in and start bashing McCain because he has a woman on his ticket........lol

Absolutely.

McCain announcing names like Lieberman for Sec of State and Petraeus for Sec of Defense, I think he would really help himself - just like Bush did with Powell.

That's very possible......it seemed that as each day went on, something happened that crossed Romney off........Romney might could have a large role though in an administration......

PALIN, more than ANYTHING ELSE......that McCain has tried to do.........is make his possible administration as DIFFERENT as he can from Bush......this is a start that's for sure.

Well she seems to be strong against abortion - but she walks to talk as well. She recently gave birth to a child she knew would be born with down syndrome - her fifth child.

Oh, okay.... so a 3 year Senator isn't qualified to be President, but a 1 year Governor is. Way to kill the best argument you had left, McCain.

I never pay attention to the abortion issue anyway. Admittedly the Court nominees can change that, but other than that there's nothing an Executive Branch person can do. How bout Civil Unions? Separation of Church and State? Gun Control?

Basically falls in line?

Sorry Norm, he didn't pick the person most capable of being president in his stead. Additionally, I agree on the houses thing. You'd have had more of a haves vs. have-nots.

Anyone got any links to her economic strategy, I read her bduget changes as governor, but is economics a plus or minus for her?

2 years of executive experience > 3 years of legislative experience.

Before being governor - she held the position of Ethics Chair on the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, good experience in today's age.

She is against gay marriage, but not against gay rights - she signed into law same-sex benefits after using her first veto on a bill that would of prevented such rights from being implemented in Alaska.

Palin may not be, IMO, as ready to be President - but I think Palin is a strong choice and is every bit as qualified to lead as Obama.

Also - apparently Palin use to be a Sports Anchor?

Pre-gubernatorial political experience

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, she challenged the incumbent mayor, criticizing wasteful spending and high taxes.[4] The ex-mayor and sheriff tried to organize a recall campaign, but failed.[4] Palin kept her campaign promises, reducing her own salary, as well as reducing property taxes 60%.[4] She ran for reelection against the former mayor in 1999, winning by an even larger margin.[4][13] Palin was also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.[10]
In 2002, Palin made an unsuccessful bid for Lieutenant Governor, coming in second to Loren Leman in a four-way race. After Frank Murkowski resigned from his long-held U.S. Senate seat in mid-term to become governor, Palin interviewed to be his possible successor. Instead, Murkowski appointed his daughter, then-Alaska State Representative Lisa Murkowski.[4]
Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission[14], where she served from 2003 to 2004 until resigning in protest over what she called the "lack of ethics" of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders, who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations and conflicts of interest.[4] After she resigned, she exposed the state Republican party's chairman, Randy Ruedrich, one of her fellow Oil & Gas commissioners, who was accused of doing work for the party on public time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail.[15] Palin filed formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney General Gregg Renkes, who both resigned; Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.[4]

She was elected Governor December 2006.

Got those Alaska electorate votes locked up now! Wooo!

:thing: :doom: :thing:

LMAO, they already had those.....

I will say this.......I'm glad that McCain didn't make a decision....JUST to win a state...........in order for these men to win......they have to get on the ground, in front of the people in those states to win them.....not just choose a VP from that state.

McCain has made an excellent choice in his location of announcing his VP. Watch this area of the US on election night........whoever wins this area..........will probably win the presidency.

LMAO, you sure as hell didn't say that when I mentioned her name here a few months ago........

You simply sourced her recent conflicts as governor.....

Not quite. Her 16 years of political experience is as follows:

Well if anything, she's a fighter......lol

Whattt. Are they serious? McCain was always gonna get the far right due to how far left Obama is...they needed somebody who would help with indepdents.

Was Palin my personal first choice? No - that has been Romney.

Palin, however, is a good pick and has the potential to be a fatal blow to Obama IF she can win the support of women across America - something I am not sure of yet.
