People should be outraged at not only Obama's associations (which, interestingly, disqualify him from even having a basic security clearance)

Stop getting on your knees for the GOP to please them... if Obama knowing Ayers disqualify him then Palin shouldn't even be allowed to be a governor... AIP membership of her husband and the statements made by the leader of the AIP are a lot worse especially because she's married to Todd Palin, gives him more power than a first 'dude' is supposed to have and has know him twenty years...

Oh wait.... the GOP can do no wrong.... and they have no rules to follow in your eyes.

I agree with Lewis's comments. And I do not believe Obama should reject those comments, as McCain would like, considering McCain's rallies have turned into vicious conventions where bigoted idiots can spew hate speech on a regular basis. The only difference between McCain and Wallace was that Wallace was fueling the fire. McCain may disapprove of some of the comments his audiences have been making, but he has been rather hesitant to address these concerns.

MCCAIN/ PALIN MAKES HISTORY!

From Washington Monthly:

The McCain/Palin ticket is the first in American history in which both candidates were found to have violated ethics standards before a national election.

Hooray! :yay:

I mentioned this in the Palin thread, but it's interesting that Obama's campaign has not brought up McCain's G. Gordon Liddy connection in response to all the nonsense about Bill Ayres:

http://www.oliverwillis.com/2008/10/05/mccains-terror-connection-g-gordon-liddy/

This issue can also be pretty damaging:

[YT]PDlpWfLyYss[/YT]

Obama does not need to bring that issue up. He has been maintaining solid leads in crucial swing states while running on the issues, with very little attacks aimed at John McCain. The Ayers issue has been ongoing for roughly a week, and it has had ZERO impact on the polls. It further shows that McCain is more interested in shooting a dead horse than talking about an issue he has admitted he knows very little about.

True.

People should be outraged at not only Obama's associations (which, interestingly, disqualify him from even having a basic security clearance), but also his tax, economic and foreign policies:

- Obama will raise taxes on ALL people by a) increasing payroll, capital gains and business income tax, which always gets passed along to consumers and employees and b) letting Bush's tax cuts expire, which means YOUR income taxes and MY income taxes go up.
- Obama has consistently been on the wrong side of economic policy, first aligning himself with ACORN, and then with Fannie and Freddie. He gave $800,000 to ACORN and he accepted large donations from Fannie to turn a blind eye to the criminal conduct they were involved in.
- Obama has absolutely ZERO foreign policy experience. Given today's volatile climate around the world, we cannot afford to have an OJT President, and one who has already said he'd bomb Pakistan, which would most definitely ignite another conflict in the ME. He also stated that he will put a date on the withdrawal of our troops from Iraq, allowing those who are waging violence in Iraq to just wait it out. Which ultimately means WE'D HAVE TO GO BACK and probably lose more troops to deal with the heightened violence that our premature withdrawal and absence would create.

So ... McCain should continue to raise Obama's shady past associations until or unless Obama himself explains them to the satisfaction of the American people, the same way McCain had to explain the Keating Five back in the day and even now. You don't hear McCain saying 'Keating was just a guy I knew.' Thus, Obama should NOT be excused for his associations WITHOUT an explanation, particularly considering how whacko some of these people are. One can't help but think that Obama must share their views if he's completely unwilling to explain why he associated and called these people with such radical views his FRIENDS.

Should people be disrespectful? No. But if Obama is lying, and he CLEARLY IS ABOUT MANY THINGS, then he should be called out on it. Period.

well, i'm convinced. mccain/palin '08!

Or we could just stay out of the Middle East's business and let them take care of the problems on their own.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

i find it funny that lazur is always railing against "papa government" controlling things here in the u.s., but he's got no problem with our government sticking it's nose in other countries' business.

I agree. Barack Obama should not reject Lewis' comments. For McCain to call for such a rejection is laughable considering he has yet to publicly denounce anything. In fact, he's done quite the opposite in saying that his supporter's are 'just angry'. Give me a break. :whatever:

Yeah, I think he's against papa government helping people but not when he goes and cries to papa government that it should teh gayz from being happy and living their lives.

Why does lazur continue to post views that have been disproven time and time again?

Why does lazur continue to ignore "guilt by association" when it makes McCain look bad?

Y'know, like how McCain welcomed the endorsement from the republican that was the head of the board Obama and Ayers worked on.

Now now.

Let's not blast lazur-- he actually believes gays should be married, and serve openly in the military.

Of course, he also believes that heterosexual parents are better than gay parents, and that gays should be housed in separate barracks because they would be attracted to their fellow heterosexual soldiers.

But still... he's a little more progressive than we would believe from his recent posts.

Convenience.

Then I apologize to Lazur, for forgetting he's just a little discriminatory instead of hugely.

My bad.

I agree. As a non-Christian, I would like nothing better than to see an Obama victory, which would most likely reverse the Christofascist policies of the Bush administration.

Here here.

Looney tunes. First of all, Allah and Yahweh are one and the same. The only difference is that Muslims don't believe Jesus Christ was the son of God. Instead, they view him as a profit. But it's the same God, just like it's the same God for Judaism. All 3 worship the same God.

Actually, I think Pat Robertson views him as a profit too.
